Valve: Have not done anything of note since half life two. Yh L4D is allright but not enough to make it the best devs around.

Valve games since HL2: HL2 Episode 1, Episode 2, Portal 1, Portal 2, L4D, L4D2, Team Fortress 2. All of those games ar at least good, most are great.

Episode one and two are just adding on to an axisiting game. the is no big improvement over the other. I dont like the portal franchise. which leaves L4D which is just ok in my opinion and team fortress. and i didnt like the look of it to be honest. but i have never played it so

Valve are alright, but they are far from being the best. but hey, everyone to their own i guess.

To me, they're one of the best. They're also probably the best developer in supporting their games after release. Tons of free DLC (and hats!), modding tools etc. to make their games last longer.

I think my main issue is all the games they make are FPS apart from TF. I dont to overly excited about many FPS so thats probably why. I also have more respect for a dev and rank them higher if they do games from different genres or a franchise i trully love. I really liked half life 2 when i played brillaint shooter, but the rest i aint to huge on.

I am sure the is a dev team which everyone praises which confuses the hell out of you

Nobody's perfect. I aint nobody!!!

Killzone 2. its not a fps. it a FIRST PERSON WAR SIMULATOR!!!! ..The true PLAYSTATION 3 launch date and market dominations is SEP 1st

I deffo dont think its blizzard. Games getting delayed and crappy WOW does not equal best devs to me.

Blizzard: Crappy WOW and Diablo 3 aint coming till 2020. Starcraft 2 was a disappointment in my opinion. and they created the horrible superman game.

Valve: Have not done anything of note since half life two. Yh L4D is allright but not enough to make it the best devs around.

In my opinion all these devs being mentioned in this thread are mediocre to the core. They bring out one half decent game and the rest are dudz. and thats being nice.

Bioware: Dragan age series is crap. Mass Effect series is Crap. stars wars game they made was good for its time.

Bethesda: Everything they touch turns to crap. I kind think of one game they have made this gen which i actually like.

Naughty Dog are the only consistently good devs mentioned in this thread. With that being said i thought bethesda is a publishing company? I never knew they were actual devs.

Fail Post you forgot to insult Rockstar.

By the way, instead of being Mr negativity who do you like?

It's between ND and Rockstar for me. UC3 MP was crazy fun.

One of the best imo.

Eh, how can anyone mention Bioware after all of their duds in recent years? Dragon Age 2, Sonic Chronicles, some bad DLC, "mass-marketing" Mass Effect (and dragon age).

Sure, they make the occasional great game but they have lost their touch. Valve, Blizzard, Naughty Dog would be my picks.

I don't understand why you don't like bioware because they made mass effect 2 a more mass market game and yet enjoy naughty dog games, which are the very definition of mass market games....

That's not really what I said though, is it? I never said I disliked Bioware. Mass Effect was an RPG, Mass Effect 2 barely was. Uncharted 1 was an action/adventure game, Uncharted 2 and 3 were action/adventure games too. The sole reason Bioware started to focus more on shooting (and "dude-bro-ing" as carl once said) was because they wanted to appeal to more people. Same thing happened with Dragon Age 2 and look how well that turned out. If they wanted to make a shooter, they should've just started a new franchise and continued with Mass Effect as an RPG franchise. "Mass-marketing" Mass Effect 2 is not my sole complaint, but I can't be bothered to go through them right now.

Don't get me wrong, Mass Effect 2 is a good game, but it was very disappointing. Don't even get me started on DA2

Your first sentence combined with all the games you listed makes it seem like you thought mass effect 2 is a dud. A dud isn't a good game that was dissappointing, a dud is a game that is a failure. Now that you clarfiied it makes sense, but initially, at least to me, it made it sound like you think mass effect 2 is terrible because it is a mass market game and then you praise a developer of mass market games.

Naughty Dog had already stated that Uncharted 3 won't have a monumental difference from its predecessor and so there was nothing to get hyped about it in the first place. Though it didn't prove to be as revolutionary as UC 2, its still none the less a pretty impressive feat. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience with it.

Naughty Dog found themselves intigrated into Sony's world soon after and shamefully sold Crash Bandicoot away to Activision (Insomniac made the same mistake with Spyro).

You seem to pretend you know Naughty Dog's history, yet you are giving misinformation like this? Why?

I would quite honestly put Beteshda on top of my list I think, if only because they seem to have ambition, something I can't say for a lot of other developers.

Naughty Dog are amazing but I'm partial to Bethesda Game Studios. Fallout 3, Skyrim and Oblivion in one generation? Amazing! And New Vegas was only mediocre because of Obsidian, hopefully they stay away from Fallout 4.

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi
