The adds really are terrible.

I'm sick of booting up the Xbox and seeing a little icon saying "Play Red Dead Redemption and another icon 4 times larger saying "BUY THIS CAR", it's extremely obtrusive. The problem is that these ads are on the "home screen", you aren't butt fucked by ads every time you turn on your computer are you? Same for smart phones, I don't even have one but my friend doesn't had ads plastered all over his home page.

I never even noticed the ads when I first got into the new dashboard. Don't think it'll bother me much. I went to Netflix and as soon as I did , it started loading a new update for it. Netflix looked completely different now. Took my a few minutes to get the hang of it. My only complaint was that the button options at the bottom of the screen were barely visable. This probably won't be the case on my HDTV, as I was using a Sony Trinitron at the time. As for the dashboard, it looks great. I haven't navigated through it fully yet and haven't tried Kinect with it. I didn't see anything negative so far. I'm not surprised to see negative comments on here, as there are gamers who don't even own an xBox 360  who will give negative comments about the dashboard. lol!! Just ignore the negative comments as at least 1/2 of them are from PS3 & Wii gamers who don't own an XBox 360. I own all 3 and the XBox 360 has always had the best menu interface of the three. The PS3 blade bars are confusing. You literally have to memorize everything on each of the 10-12 bars to find what you want. I was hoping Sony would update and change their menu screen by now, but it's still the same as when the PS3 launch. No real major changes at all. Guess they are waiting for the PS4 to make the proper changes.

XBL has the least intrusive ads of any ad-supported vehicle out there yet that's all you people focus on. Sometimes I really wish you all would sit back and listen to how petty and entitled you sound ...

It's pretty cool, definitely an upgrade. Can't wait for the other stuff to come in like Youtube and Crackle (which is free I believe, it is online). and MLB.tv! Awesome!

Things I'm confused about that you guys may be able to clear up... Before I would always go to my games, and then play the game from my harddrive. Does it default to that now if I click on the game from just the main page? And when I do go to "my games" I don't see the play from harddrive option. Also, my one complaint is how far you have to go just to see your achievements and games. As well as them not being in the order of last played unless you click on that every single time.

I will admit that my initial post was a bit hyperbolic, and this update does do some good stuff like not lock up and stutter as much as the last update did. On the other hand Netflix is really important to me, just about half my time spent on the Xbox is watching stuff on Netflix, and this update destroyed it for me (and judging by the xbox.com forums, a number of others). I watched a whole show last night on the lowest quality and it only mildly improved for me, never got into HD. Meanwhile, I pull my laptop out, go to the same show and immediately am streaming in HD. I haven't gotten one of those bandwith change stoppages in months, and all of sudden Netflix on the Xbox is acting like my connection's awful, when I know it isn't. Never mind the removal of the party function completely, which is really the only advantage the Xbox app has over other devices.

And I don't think it's too much to ask that the dashboard doesn't look like a billboard half the time, especially with ads for WoW, which you can't even play on the Xbox.

So the little advertisement in the lower right is worse then the full tile advertisements for things like Sprint in NXE? 

No point is its sad because we have adverts throughout  our lives and by now people should just deal  with it.

I agree with ads in the midfle of films etc annoying, but this is hardly the same  thing.

Negative - Microsoft managed to force me to use a first page full of ads. Game in the disk tray only takes up a small fraction of the screen.

Cloud save system is cool, but I probably will never use it.

Overall, it makes me feel like MS is just trying to advertise more to me. I wish the whole screen got a unique background when on the game disk screen like it does on PS3, and I wish I could make my own theme. Where is free TV for XBL Gold users? All I found was pay for channels.
