I also don't understand the grief this game gets. I thought it was really fun.

I'm guessing it's because some people had ridiculously high expectations for it to be another OCARINA OF TIME, which, although understandable in some cases, is ultimately not fair to Twilight Princess.  Not every Zelda game can be as revolutionary as OoT, but does that make TP bad?  IMO, no.

The real problem is that certain people go into every new Zelda game with the intention to not let it be better than OoT. They don't want OoT to be surpassed, ever. So they nitpick every little detail to marginalize all the things that a new Zelda game actually does right.

I am not one of those people, and frankly, I think that there are far better ways to appreciate a new Zelda game than to compare it to Ocarina of Time, favorably or not.  IMO, those people are hardly worth dealing with.  I imagine they'll probably be saying the same about Skyward Sword too, after the hype settles down.

I first played the Wii version and couldn't stand it and put it down because the controls were very awkward. Now, I'm playing the GC version and love it. I really think it's more of a GC game than a Wii game, with the Widescreen being the only advantage of the Wii version.

I have a friend who cosplays Zelda from TP. I do think it's the best looking Zelda of the whole series.

Right now, my all time favorite Zelda game is Link to the Past. Once I finish TP, I'll have a better rating to it, but I am enjoying it so far.

"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY."  --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials

i tried playing it again not too long ago and had to stop. all the bloom was really hurting my eyes.

For me it's the worst Zelda beacuse of the "lack" of the character Zelda

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

I'm replaying it now for the 3rd time, and I have to say that it's fantastic! Even the old graphics look really good to me (which really wasn't my reaction the first time I played it). Like many have said, you do appreciate the little things in this game which makes it an incredible experience

Everyone's loving TP now that SS has released.

I never saw the problem with TP, I liked it and for me it didn't disappoint. IMO, 3d Zeldas in order of quality goes like this (excluding SS as I haven't finished it yet): WW>OoT>TP>MM.

WW=TP>Oot. I haven't played MM, and as much as I like OoT, the nostalgia factor died in me with the 3D remake. Not that the remake wasn't a good game, but it really showed me how much progression has occurred in the new Zelda games.

I am playing through it again on my wii! I have it for the gamecube too. Awesome game.
