The reason the 3ds looks like a good deal now is because its only 10-20$ then the currently sold ds. If nintendo drops the price they might lose a lot of potential customers, especially during the holidays.
Is the DSXL price fine for you? | |||

The DS still outsells the PSP by a lot every week. I see no reason to drop the price
Now playing 3D Land, 10 hours and a half, and i'm not still at 100% of the game.
More gameplay than MGS4 for 25€ less.

Nintendo should have released 3DS at $199, sure DS would probably be outselling it more, but that realllllly doesn't matter, and I'm not sure I understand why people/Nintendo think that's a bad thing. The PS2 outsold the PS3 for a fair while into the PS3's life, you need to give it time to warm up.
They have very old tech released in 2004, priced the same as tech from 2011, it's beyond stupid.

It's easy to criticise when all is said and done. Nintendo wouldn't have priced 3DS at $250 if they knew it would cripple the sales.

Seece?
- - - Not taking advantage of demand would be stupid. If DS sells at that price, why cut it?

What's with the pathetic little picture? you wanna say something say it.
I didn't say they should cut DS price, I said they should have launched 3DS at $199, and not worry about DS outselling it the first year.

lol why u mad tho? Stop taking things so personally, I was just replying to your post about stupidity
Because when you buy a console, you are not buying a good in the traditional sense. The cost is only vaguely associated with the parts and manufacturing.
The DS has very little time left for games to come out and sell. The 3DS has a comparatively long life ahead of it. The 3DS could be sold well below break even point and Nintendo would still make a profit eventually. The same cannot be said for the DS
