Forums - Website Topics - Welcome Back MontanaHatchet!

Y'know what? I'm surprised no one has made a replacement for the vgcIM yet. Seems there are enough people interested. It shouldn't be that hard to embed an irc chatbox onto a page.

Edit: Nope, Impossible. I made a chat but I can't embed it onto a page =/

By the way, I hold the VGC record of getting banned by as many different moderators as possible. Ten. If extended to bans and warnings, the number of different moderators is twelve. I have a lot of fans around here.

I'm still curious on the record for most bans, yet still here.

I'm sitting nicely on 13. Last one was July, when Ollist stupidly banned me for saying Mario has 50 games a Year.

One of the problems I've noticed since rejoining the mod team is that certain users will report for just about everything. I wouldn't let it get to you too much. You're a great member of the community.

Of course, you may only answer if you wish.

Am I part of them?

Your rise in activity and Montana's main time of activity don't quite sync up. Don't get down.

@Talon: It's good to see you back dude. I remember talking with you and Brett all the time back in the day about straightening out the DB. I actually found this thread because I was looking for direction on an issue I found on the latest JP chart that involves the DB. I just don't know what to do/who to contact :(

Anyways, glad you are well and makin babies. The new layout of the site does have certain advantages, but it's also a bit overwhelming and feels disjointed in some regards. Anyways, I hope you'll be back in full force one day. I'd like to do the same. I had to fall off the map for about a year when I joined the military and had to do tons of training. I've been trying to get back into the swing of things here slowly, but find myself kinda confused about certain things and just don't know what's going on sometimes. Oh well, I do my best with the time I have.

@Montana: Welcome back and congrats. It's good to see an old familiar face here again. I remember that you used to chafe my tushie sometimes haha. Still, that was years ago and I'm glad to see you back :P

Just out of curiosity what was the issue? I am sure since you are an admin it is different than mine, but last night before the New Year I was trying to patch up the japan chart for this week, but was unable to click on a few games that did not have any box art. I  kept coming up short until I got to the Frontier game.

I am fully aware of the fragmented sentence up abo

Haha, that's what I was trying to do as well. Just couldn't click on the game that didn't have boxart. I tried searching for it manually and it wasn't in the list. I also tried checking deleted game entries and it wasn't there either. When I held the cursor over the game on the chart the url showed "error" on the end I think.

WOAH! Quigon, it's good to see you. You were part of the original DB crew. I honestly wished I had worked on the DB more but usually moderating and school would take up all my time. When the site makes its transition, we'll definitely need talented people to help the site rise further in prominence. 2012 is likely going to be a huge year for the site and it'd definitely be nice to see some older faces sticking around.

Also, not sure what I did to bother you back in the day since it's been a while. I apologize if I did anything to make you feel uncomfortable on the site.

Firstly, welcome back.

Secondly, I agree that a return to the old layout would help as well. There are STILL features that I haven't figured out (or missing in entirety) since the last transition.

I have mostly been a lurker, but I've been around and I do miss the banter of the old days - I was here for months before I even made an account. The current lack of energy makes me sometimes wish for the edgy/trollish postings of yesteryear when the "console wars" were still hot...

Not that I am advocating a return to that bedlam, but lets see how some of your suggestions work first.

Also, does anyone know what happened to leo-j? He still posts, but not often... and not with the ferocity of old.

After looking through the other sites other than neogaf I have found this is the easiest site to get around. Should not take more than a few hours to figure out the forums and site here. Try getting around most the other sites and get ready for a headache!

I can't say that I frequent many forums, so I'll take your word for it.  What I meant was... "in the 'old days' the layout seemed more intuitive.  There didn't seem to be nearly the number of "how in the hell do I do <blank> threads (ex. adding games to your collection)".  Granted, once you know how it isn't a big deal, but the old layout seemed to be easier to simply learn by messing around.
