Forums - Gaming - why do people like to hate on the call of duty modern warfare games?

Also a side note:

I literally LMAO at anyone who used the single player as a reason they don't like CoD such as "Oh it has a boring short campaign", "it has a shit story...russians this, russians that", "its the same campaign every year"....etc..etc..etc

Anyone with half a brain knows multiplayer is all that matters in CoD. I've owned the game since Day 1 and haven't even looked at the single player. I've done 1 or 2 games of Spec Ops survival, and the rest of my play time is online.

If you want a good single player go play Skyrim, Skyward Sword or Uncharted 3. Those are all games that are actually built around single player experience.

Because it sells more than their favorite game by 10 times over probably. And the people on this website care about sales.

Bingo. You're the first person to get the correct answer.

I really think its because sometimes people cant take being demolished by other people online so they gotta say that it takes no skill and make other excuses why the game is only for noobs. I mean come on people ;earn to lose!!! your not always going to win!!!

That's funny. I have been playing call of duty since mordern warfare, and modern warfare 2 was exactly the same. Exact. There were like some differences in killstreaks. And some weapon differences. Other than that, everything, the setting, gameplay, graphics, story (LOL) everything was same. Taking other games as example Uncharted single player has changed its setting with every entry, gears of war has improved its gameplay with sequels, battlefield has definitely improved its graphics with its sequel, skyrim, etc need I say more? Its call of duty's fault it is released every year to have changes as big as other games. Even then it hasn't changed much since modern warfare. That's just shameful.

I liked call of duty too, world at war is my favorite one.Oh, and the campaign in both modern warfare and world at war were pretty good, so if you are saying we shouldn't consider these games' single player experience into consideration, then you are wrong.

It proves that the consumer hasn't changed since the roman times :p
I don't really hate COD but i like FPS`s where the team effort are emphasized

Only reason I hate on Call of Duty is that Call of Duty fans are hating on games like Mario or Zelda or other ghames in how "oh its another mario game" and yearly release and omg so many mario's ect.

Look in the mirror a bit.  Don't bash mario for having many games when Call of Duty has almost as many games in like a 1/3 of the time.

Because it's mainstream, face it, we're all hipsters

Dang, this was nearly exactly what I was going to say.

It's popular and part of the community doesn't think it should be.

Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,

My guess is that people like to get angry and complain about stuff. Something about millions of people enjoying a game that they can't afford/don't like/don't want just pisses some folks off. People only really get their hate on once something becomes colossally successful though, so this is pretty much normal. They have their reasons of course, they always do, but really, so long as they enjoy the games they actually want there's no reason to get pissy about it.

Anyone wih half a brain, huh? CoD multiplayer is piss poor imo. Its the Ridge Racer equivalent of shooters and plays like squirtguns in a funhouse with GI Joe's high on meth. And, for your information, a lot of people brag about the campaign (in fact; most people do) as a trumph card over BF3 and other titles so for a lot of people the campaign matters. And then, for some people, the campaign is bollocks (people like me who have played other games).

I don't "hate on" the Modern Warfare games, I actually liked the first one but I don't like the franchise any more, simple as that. There are a lot of other franchises I used to love that I don't like any more, its really not that uncommon and I don't understand why some are so taken aback by others not liking the same games they do!

It's the same reason why people hate on Justin Bieber.

Buying multiplayer maps is like buying tickets to a Justin Bieber concert even though you already have his CD and can listen to him sing anytime you want. But when you see your friends all getting excited about a Justin Bieber concert and they are all going for it, you feel pressured to buy the ticket and go for his concert.
