Guerrilla working on Killzone 4, new IP, Edge reports

But is it for PlayStation 4?

The "bulk" of Guerrilla Games' staff are hard at work on a fourth instalment of PS3 FPS series Killzone, Edge reports.

Speaking in the mag's latest issue - which is with subscribers now - studio founder Adrian Smith stated that Guerilla has "got to continue the Killzone franchise."

Alongside Killzone the studio's also working on a new IP, Edge reports, led by former Killzone game director Mathijs de Jonge.

"An embryonic new IP is growing within the studio for the first time in seven years," the mag writes. "Additional staff cycle in from the Killzone team for brief stints to lend their expertise."

Smith added: "We're at 160 heads now; we're looking to get to about 190 to 200 within 12 months. That may or may not happen because of our benchmark."

In another report Edge claimed the next-generation of consoles could arrive as early as next year. Could Guerrilla be prepping Killzone 4 as a PlayStation 4 launch title?

Meh... they should leave killzone for a while and come back to it in 2 or 3 years.. remind me to get lunch together with some friends working at Guerilla to poke around what the new IP is...

Man, the Killzone series has so much unrealised potential. I hope Guerrilla can really come through with the next game. I wonder what this new IP is. Hope it's something unique.

so true, especially the SP campaign, the universe it's built on is fantastic, so so much potential there. That's the area I hope they nail and nail good with KZ4

Killzone is the most underrated and under-appreciated FPS of this generation.
reviewers dont give it the credit it deserves because its not multiplatform, or named call of duty or Halo.

it so incredibly fun, by far best FPS multiplayer, and Killzone 3 was by far the best in the series.

I love Killzone. This is great news!

The universe has some potential, but I thought they undermined it with Killzone 3's story. Hopefully they can do a better job.

It can't be that their are a lot of people like me that played it and said meh. 

I just can't understand why folks on the site praise it so much.  Good universe, good graphics, and crappy story and nothing special about gameplay.

I think it is rated as it should be.
