Never thought I'd see a positive 360 thread from BHR, I've been lurking for few years before joining and I must say - the old BHR I remember would bet his entire fortune on PS3.

Personally, I don't know how it'll go if there is a price cut, the MW bundle, the Halo bundle - big boosts coming up.

Also and as long as there is no announcement of the successor during 2012, the sales should peak even higher than they are now, provided price cut is applied. If the next xbox is announced, then no way.

Doesn't really seem feasible. A price cut wouldn't really do a whole lot for 360 as saturation in Americas sets in. Similar to the non-existent effects of the DS price cut in 2010 and Wii price cut this year. There's room for growth in Europe but as we can see from the practically non-existent effect of the price cuts in Spain and Australia price isn't MS's problem in PAL, it's brand recognition. The Japan landscape won't really change a whole lot, Famitsu projected PS3 sales to be about flat or only slightly down next year. The only major factor I can think of that might have an impact would be whether or not Sony cut price again next year. They said that they're still selling at a profit at $250 and IIRC they'll be moving to the 22nm process next year, so they might be able to do it without going into the red again. But then again they probably want to get as big of a margin as they can to maximize profits. They only way I can see 360 pulling a victory is if they aggressively start expanding into new markets, and if Sony don't.

well i've had some time to think about it since my last post and now i think its not impossible but as it has been pointed out history has repeated its self time and time again this gen.

its not likely to happen but it will be very close considering several factors. i'm very interested in hearing what Sucker Punch, Guerrilla games, Sony Santa monica, and Quantic Dreams new ip.

now if all those dev's release there new games next yr. along with the 10 i've counted already then 2012 will be an interesting yr. indeed.

maybe Sony thinks they can release KZ4 during the 2012 holiday season lol.

I do think 360 will win 2012, why you may ask? Well first I think an early $50 price cut on Kinect will happen around Feb.-March to give the 360 a short boost. Next, Star Wars Kinect release along with the Bundle will give it a slight boost. Then at E3 MS will drop the console price by $100. Halo 4 bundle and next COD bundle will give a huge boost. Along with exclusive list consisting of Halo 4, Fable Journey, Ryse, Witcher 2, will push it over the Ps3 and Wii.

Now I could be wrong because after all this is a prediction, but I'm sure atleast two of these things will happen.

Halo 4 and COD bundles always move substantial amount of consoles, however only that is not enough to boost it over PS3, a price cut is definitely needed and would probably be a good incentive to upgrade on the oldbox to replace it with a slim.

Which exclusives? Sure the last guardian is gonna be great (if it even comes out next year) but it wont move consoles. 360 is gonna see similar sales to a COD week when Halo 4 comes. What makes you say PS3 is gonna have a price drop? It did this year, so i don't think it will the next year, but 360 definitely will. Also if PS3 would not have lowered its price, 360 would have outsold it this year, it still can actually, but its unlikely.

360 is not gonna outsell the 3DS i think though. But it most likely is gonna outsell the PS3 in 2012.

What most people dont know though is the Xbox 360 has outsold itself every year.. so every year its sold better then it did the year before..  ( see recent Nov 2011 article here ... fact #14 ... http://www.vgchartz.com/article/88468/xbox-10-years-of-fun/    ) .. So even when you look at the great sales of the other consoles.. The Xbox  360 is doing something the PS3 isn't.. #1 Making a profit OVERALL this generation.. The PS3 lost 12 Billion overall.. and recently losses were at 300 million for the recent quarter because someone decided to lower the price ( I wonder if this guy got fired ).. Sony is  selling more consoles at a price -  losing money - something the PS2 NEVER did.. Stockholders want to get away from the PS3 as it is a money loser... Where as M$ is making deposits in the bank with the 360.. #2 -  Xbox 360 is proving it is a gaming machine..  the PS3 is selling so well, yet again with the release of Oblivion Skyrim and COD MW4 we are AGAIN reminded 360 owns PS3 in big title multi-plat releases..  Actually none of PS3's exclusives have outsold MS exclusives either... PS3 fans often try and say " But the PS3 isn't a FPS console" .. Hilarious when you ignore the Fact that the PS3's best selling titles are ALL First Person Shooters.. ( Go check out the top 4 ).. then you get the argument well "We have so much variety".. and the 360 does too.. I think its funny to see the PS3 so close to the 360 in worldwide userbase... but if you go into software sales the picture is quite different...

I think it'll be close sales-wise.. I dont think the Next Xbox will be released next year because Halo 4 has been in development over a year in order to be releasing Dec 2012 .. I doubt its being developed on the Next Gen Xbox console already ( this would mean the console was ready over a year ago ) ...I think they will make the "official" announcement in 2012 that it will be released in 2013.. 

As I said the 360 is outselling what it did last year.. just as last year it outsold what it did year before.. etc..etc.. As long as the Xbox is selling well - they will follow the business model of supply and demand.. In other WORDS - They will keep selling something people still want.. Just as Sony did with the PS2..
