Yea, but the tie ratio between retail sales and systems is growing much faster on 360 then it is for PS3.

As for CoD fans caring about the outage, of the people on this forum and real friends who are CoD nuts, many of them talk about paying the extra $$$$ and switching. If current console owners are thinking of selling their PS3 and going 360, I can only imagine what newcomers to Call of Duty are thinking.

Doesn't matter how causal of a gamer you are, that PSN outage was huge. My 60 year old dad completly boycotted Sony after that and he doesn't even play games. Credit card information was stollen man. Even now the Sony stock is the lowest it's been in decades (with respect to inflation).

MW3 selling much better on 360 then PS3, to a larger ratio then Black Ops, shows that although PS3 has been able to maintain the CoD fans on it's past (or offset those lost with new gamers), PS3 hasn't been able to grow the fanbase anywhere nearly as much as 360.

I have actually not seen any evidence of that. Sure, the media blew the outage up so the casuals might remember it still because of that.

Of course, when the 360 outsells PS3 by a lot in America you'd expect the 360 version to grow a lot more. I still find it hard to believe that a game that sells more than 2.5m in one region can't boost PS3 at all. Surely it is strange that Wii had a bigger boost than PS3 when MW3 and Skyrim came out.

Sony said very few peoples credit card information was "comprimised." I think VGC had an article on that.

Personally I know Sony is a great company, I won't let one blemish ruin my reputation of them. Either way I refuse to put credit card into on my 360 as well, I don't like how you have to call to cancel subscriptions and the such.

As for 360 outselling the PS3 by a lot, PSN outages is my reasoning. I have no proof that CoD fans are ditching the PS3, and at best I can only say my opinion based on the CoD fans around me. This is why I opened with "Who knows what they are thinking."

I don't think figures will be adjusted by much, but I'm curious to see which platform MW3 sold better on in EMEAA. MW2 sold better on 360, but Black Ops did marginally better on PS3.

The 360 boost being greater than the PS3 boost is simply because of the deals available during the holiday sales period. Not to mention this is the time of year having the 4GB version already less expensive further improves the sales.

Don't forget the X360 MW3 bundles. People are into custom bundles.

This isn't about CoD fans but rather new cod players. 2.5 million CoD sales vs. 900k BF3 sales and you think the average consumer actually remembers the outage by now?

Not surprising, considering you can get a $199 360 any time you want. It's nothing new for them to be selling 360s for less than the PS3, why do you act like it is?

Yea, but Call of Duty sells on hype. if all the PS3 fans are switching systems, or complaining about delayed map packs and PSN Outage,  then more of the the new buyers will buy the 360 bundle since XBL is becoming more associated with CoD.

and yes I still think the average consumer remembers the outage. My parents tried to convince me not to get a Sony phone because of the PSN outage. It's more then an outage, personal information and credit card information was stollen.

As for Arcade 360's, most 360 sales are of the 250GB, which is suppose to be retail $299. Arcade systems are lesser systems only makes sense they cost less, but I've seen Elite systems (is that what they are called now) sell for $230, where PS3 bundles are limited to $250 with all 3 Uncharteds in some places, but usually just the 3rd one.

I don't know how you think PS3 fans are switching systems when the PS3 version is growing almost as much as the 360 version (relatively). Why would the Cod fans care about the outage and not the BF fans? The average cod fan is a more casual type of gamer, or rather, he knows little about gaming things that are not related to cod. I'd like to believe that the average BF fans is a bit less casual and more "into" the gaming industry, if you will.

Still, MW3 seeing growth over Black Ops on the PS3 does not point to any leakage of fans to the 360 because of the outage.

So now there is more supporting evidene of CoD fans switching to 360. Black Ops sold 180k units more on PS3 then 360 (10% better), when the total number of PS3's in EMEAA was 11% larger (19.4 million PS3's to 17.5 million 360's).

Modern Warfare 3 sold only 11k more units on the PS3 then it did the 360 in EMEAA (only 0.5% better), but the total number of consoles has grown propotionatly for PS3 to 20% (27 vs. 22.5 PS3's to 360's).

So despite PS3 being having a 10% larger userbase compared to last year, Call of Duty sold 10% worse respectivly for the consoles.

Something has annoyed PS3 CoD fans, if you give me another reason other then PSN outage I'll accept it, but right now I don't see one. It's not like Uncharted 3 is stealing a bunch of sales lol.

The MW3 bundle I'm sure has been the main differentiator vs other deals, particularly in US/UK and a few other territories where 360 is favoured.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

To what? Not trying to harm the PS3 image, I like Sony over MS, just giving rational reasoning to lower then expeced CoD sales ratio between PS3 and 360.

Have any other possible suggestions?

OHHHH Uncharted, lol! Well it's a shame...
