MEAA SW is counted and there is an art to it, not just random extrapolation.


Didn't we have this discussion a few months ago? Then where is EMEAA numbers for all of the Japanese exclusives (most of them also release in Hong Kong and Korea)?

It's not perfect and some games are missed but we DO track it.

VGC can't track the whole world you know. Problem with ME (and i'm from ME) is that there is no tracking site, and tracking them is just one big nuisance. At least in Lebanon it's almost impossible due to a lot of the consoles coming in illegally. So yeah VGC is doing ok in that persepective.

I worded that poorly. It wasn't really meant as a dig at the site. I understand the difficulties of tracking the region. It was meant to convey the fact that if someone wanted to criticize the site that would probably be high up on the list of things to complain about. For the most part its not that big of a deal to me unless it's for games that we have hard data showing relatively extraordinary sales in the region (God of War 3, Your Shape, Demon's Souls, and GT5 come to mind).

We get enough official figures to know that, especially Nintendo provide charts every quarter. For Xbox360 UK is easily the biggest market, closer to 75% share instead of 40-50% which VGZ shows.

the UK makes up 1/3 of the 360 console base in EMEAA. It makes no sense that 1/3 of the market would make up 75% of the software sales... If the rest of europe buys significantly less software then the UK then the ps3 software numbers must be overtracked as well.

It makes sense because we get numbers from time to time. Just look at Germany, Fifa 12 PS3 500k+ already and 360 version 100k+.

MW3 on PS3 in Germany easly sold 4 times more then 360 version looking at the chart, 360 version is even below Skyrim PC. UC3 is dropping pretty badly in all over EU, it needs to show better legs in coming weeks.
