Forums - Gaming - Do UK retailers have Black Friday?

I was wondering if there is Black Friday in the UK. I see all those crazy promotions in the US, so I am curious. Does Zavvi or Amazon.co.uk have Black Friday deals?

Black who?

I don't think so, never really understood what Black Friday was, or why it happens.

No we don't, though Amazon did try to bring it over last year.

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Xbox One: What are you doing Dave?

Never seen any major offerings until this year, when I spotted this on Amazon.

I'm assuming it just the time when the Christmas Rush starts. In the store I work at, there is a deals week but there are a load of Christmas offer that have been going on for a month or so, up until New Year. Theres so pretty good gaming ones, but again no reference to black friday.

With all the trouble with the eurozone and the economic worry, a lot of stores are making special offers to tempt people. The problems are making everything more competitive.

Any reason for it? Or is it just competitive?

it signifies the begining of the holiday shopping rush. Not really sure why it happened but I'm assuming basically one store started the tradition and others followed suit in the hopes of staying competitive. Its gotten to the point where every store pretty much has no choice but to drop their prices ridiculously or they will get 0 customers.

Ahh cool, I wish something like that would happen in the UK.

I believe prices drop just before Christmas, nothing on the scale of this though.

Lets hope so!
