Star Ocean 3, Breath of Fire 5 comes close (Good game if they properly explained the item linker), Heavenly Sword, Beyond Good and Evil.

Try not to share any futher threads with me.

Sorry dude, I couldn't take Star Ocean 3's second disc, the sheer amount of grinding I had to do, it wasn't worth it.  Now I enjoyed Infinite Undiscovery quite a bit, so I'm not totally lost on Tri Ace.  Now if you dislike me disliking the other titles, well, we'll just agree to like different games.

In recent memory the only thing i can think of was WKC's i was desperate for a JRPG and i must have played about an hour and gave up i'm sure it's one of those games that comes to you in time but i just couldn't go on i knew i wasn't getting on with it in the first fight!

Worst before I started writing about it was Magna Carta for the PS2, so sad after I waited in anticipation.

Worst after I started writing about it is Cross Edge, just the definition of a grind fest in every possible way with a bad story to keep me working at it.

I have someone on my PSN friend list that platinumed Cross Edge.

's a patient dude, hell that probably takes more time than platinuming Disgaea, and that game is at least fun.

I bought into the hype, and it had been awhile since I got a new 360 game, so I figured why not?  The campaign was short and uninspired (I actually prefer ODST's campaign), and I stopped playing the multiplayer after about a month or so.  Complete waste of $60 in my book.

I got suckered in with this one just like every one else who figured hey, I need an extra Wiimote, so why not get a game with it for $10 more?  Who knew this would set a precedent for garbage minigame crapfests on the Wii.

And the worst game I ever spent my (or my parents') hard earned money on is...

OK, so I played soccer as a kid, and I had a bad case of WC fever at the time (actually went to a WC game at the old Giants' Stadium)... so why not get the official game?  Bad idea... especially since my mom let me pick any game I wanted, and I chose this steaming pile of crap after narrowing it down to 2 games.  Know what the other game was?  Secret of Mana.  Yeah... I still kick myself for that decision!

Surprised someone said FFX, that is considered the 2nd best FF game by most people.

Anyways I rarely buy games at full price so if I buy a crappy game I only paid less than 20 dollars for it.

I got Battlefield 2: Modern Combat. Was nothing compared to the old ones.
A lot of the games on Nitendo DS.

I would add in FFX-2, but I played that game for 70 hours and got it for like 10 dollars so I cannot complain lol.

FFX that was me. I could not take the random battles anymore. I didn't want to play with a guide so had to backtrack now and then between villages.

Every damn 3 steps some plant attacks me. Switch to battle screen, characters load in, get ready animations, sometimes pre-emptive strike 1 dmg! My turn, 1 hit dead, victory dance, results screen, xp, ep, gil counters, switch back to game, 3 more steps, next effing plant tries to claim his 30 seconds of fame. By the time I got back to the previous village I had completely forgotten why I was going back there in the first place.

I also couldn't get into Dragon quest 8 and Persona, but I blame World of warcraft for that. It sucked up all my time. I still have them on the shelf for later.

Final Fantasy XIII is the worst game I've ever paid for and finished. bad plot, bad characters, broken gameplay, no freedom at all, and they even managed to break the graphics by making the text nigh unreadable on STDV's. While technically impressive graphically, the game looked about as stereotypical as you could imagine a JRPG being, both visually and audio.

Duke Nukem Forever had a amalgamation of every bad FPS trope I've come to hate in the last decade or so. Plus it was glitchy as hell, annoying, immature, and ugly. I was hoping for a cheesefest made of OLD FPS styles...but it was just garbage.

those are the only two games I flat out hate.

My Console Library:

PS5, Switch, XSX

PS4, PS3, PS2, PS1, WiiU, Wii, GCN, N64 SNES, XBO, 360

3DS, DS, GBA, Vita, PSP, Android

Hmm did you play the game when it came out or after?

Because around that time random battles were the norm.

I played FFX when it came out but did not finish it and then played the game last year.

The random battles are annoying but as we got harder battles they become very interesting with all the tactics and player switching.
Even so I loved the storyline and the music and the cut scenes are still very good for such an old game. I can see why it was such a big hit game and the 2nd biggest FF game ever and likley the peak of the franchise.
