Forums - Gaming - Mass Effect 3 to Have Three Different Singleplayer Modes

Bioware always makes the smartest decisions that, for some reason or another, are hated by gamers.

But then again... people have a bias against creativity so maybe that's why?

Reading another post in this thread: If Mass Effect ever did a crossover with Gears of War, I would go crazy from the overload of awesomeness.

Hmmm i guess RPG mode for me. Mix of action and rpg.

I think the wife and I will be playing RPG mode, but I know a couple of people who will want Story Mode.

Options are always good.

I wasn't going to post this, but since you talked about it here:

Will story mode cut the lengthy repetitive corridors in half?
I would like an RPG mode with fewer more meaningful battles, not a mode where it's just easier to kill them. Enemies popping out behind chest high walls around every corner completely breaks the immersion for me.

Personally, I will be playing in RPG mode on Insanity mode. I'm on my 5th ME2 playthrough on Insanity and the game is a lot funner that way and more challenging.

That is so awesome!

ME3 is looking to be the best game of 2012.

They should split the game into five pieces:
You have to answer five questions with two/three options.

What combat difficulty do you want?
Difficulty - Easy/normal/Hard
Almost every game has these choices, why narrow it down. I don't want to start on normal.

Do you want to develop your personality?
Conversations Automatic/Manual
-In automatic mode you don't have to pick every sentence.
-In manual mode you have free choice to develop your personality.

Do you like micromanagement?
Item upgrades Automatic/Manual
This is ship/weapon and body upgrades.
-In automatic mode no-harvesting is needed you'll automatically acquire 80% of all resources.
You still have to search for items or buy them. Once back on the ship everything will be upgraded automatically.
-In manual mode you'll have to do harvesting and upgrading by yourself.

Do you want to explore?
Story: Linear/Free roam/Quick
-Linear: Follow the story in order of missions you acquire.
-Quick: Same as linear (no side missions)
These two modes make use of auto-travelling (no-fuel, no nodes). Key conversations are marked as an objective on map.
-Free roam: Go where you wanna go. You also have to find/explore more to develop the story-line.

Do you want to create you own character?
Simple yes or no.

Sounds pretty good. I'll be going with RPG mode.
