If it runs on XP, it usually will on win7. I'm still playing UT 1999 on my win7 PC :D

@PullusPardus: Have you tried the Unreal series? Yes, I've read the first post and there is Unreal Tournament there, but the Unreal series (not tournament) is closer to what you want. I don't like it very much though.

Reasonable on 05 November 2011

Good old Painkiller. Yeah, it was a blast. Closest FPS to Doom for ages. Decent engine combined with simple environments = huge waves of bad guys and non stop combat.

Couldn't play stuff like this all the time, but in the right doses it's great.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

You can also add Duke 3D, Rise of the Triad, Shadow Warrior and both Blood games to that list as well. Bah, I'm itching to go back and play those myself xD.

Yeah, all those three ruled (and Heretic II as well although it was in third person) but they have very outdated graphics obviously.

After only playing the demo when Painkiller originally came out and forgetting about it I saw it on Steam and it piqued my interest, so I bought the black edition and really liked it a great change of pace , since you brought it back to my attention, I noticed the complete pack so now I will purchase that , btw how far through are you.

A tad short and cen get a bit repetitive but it's a fun game and looks great. And they just added a survival mode which is pretty brutal, tho I kinda wish they had made it co-op.
