Kids grow up so fast

The question was specifically about the 3DS and if Super Mario 3D Land and Mario Kart 7 would be enough to appeal to all demographics. The Wii user graphs were shown to illustrate that Mario titles are accepted by all age groups in America and Europe while there only is a problem in Japan. But that's what Monster Hunter 3G is for. That's the essence of Iwata's answer. |
And it doesn't seem to be a bad answer to me. All that's missing is real expanded-audience stuff, which hopefully Nintendo has been shocked by their recent financial troubles into producing
(they should really do more Tomodachi Collection. Seems like a no-brainer)

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.
Japan is by far the Wii's weakest market and it's probably because of that.
@Mr Khan
Yeah I do hope that Nintendo produces new IP's that can have the influence of Brain Training and Wii Sports. I still have a lot of faith in the 3DS especially after Japan sales have been amazing recently

Aren't you forgetting that Mario has a ton of extra lives? So he'll come back, this time with fire and star power and light your ass up.

no not forgetting anything. he starts with 3 lives and he won't get pass the first tunle for coins or to the first brick. if i do it 3 times then he's dead until i press restart and do it all over again.
Agreed completely. Its the complete lack of any quality 3rd party support as Nintendo just doesn't fit that age group with its 1st party software very well.
For some reason I am not surprised, even in UK most of the people I know to be Wii users ( from my personal experiences anyhow) are children - about 6-12/14 and adults after about 35-40 (when they start to worry about their weight more than usual). Anyone in between tends to have a 360/PS3.
Disconnect and self destruct, one bullet a time.
