Well Nintendo's portable gaming consoles sold really well and nintendo games sold extreamly well on the N64 but even better on the gamecube (in some cases)

Wow if true! I find it hard to believe that Ninty was never in the red during the 64 or Gamecube eras. But if so then kudos.

Nintendo had portable gaming consoles that sold like a billion units

You mean the gameboy and gameboy advanced eras?

Id love to see this split for each company in Hardware vs Software totals

Just amazed at the PS3 loses.

The PS3 losses are WAY bigger than those numbers.  Remember they were propped up by the surprising longevity of the PS2 that kept on selling long after PS3 launch.

Can't we all just get along and play our games in peace?

This confuses me though, both the N64 and Gamecube were fairly cutting edge tech, and more powerfull then Sony's systems. How come they saw no losses, their software sales couldn't of been as high as the ps1/ps2. The gamecube was also sold for $100s cheaper then the ps2 and saw a price drop to $99 just 2 years after its launch.

This is all very confusing lol

N64 was saved by Pokemon Stadium. The lack of a CD drive reduced costs greatly, I'd imagine.

As for Gamecube, I have no idea how did that turned a profit.

Even though the sells for the Gamecube were extremely poor none of them were sold at loss, every single unit they sold meant money for Nintendo's pocket

Gamecube may not have been proftiable.  Remeber these numbers are gaming divisons, no? (per thread title) So that means all the DS money they were printing out their booties is covering any losses incurred.

Not sure how accurate this chart is, but it is interesting. Enjoy :D

Holy fudgecicle!

I was following only Nintendo on the way down and was thinking...

Lots of growth in the NES days, PS1 didn't hurt Nintendo too bad, WOW Wii really helped Nintendo a ton!.....WTF?!?!? WOW MS and Sony are doing poorly! Nintendo is really f***ing king, WOW.

Nintendo 4 Life.

Updated. :) I got bored. FY 2013 hasn't finished for MS or Sony. It also make the comparing of them a little difficult since they are comparing slightly different times (even different years). Sony and MS also produce income, good or bad, from other products in the same division so those numbers can be somewhat skewed. Enjoy!

Your number are wrong for the Sony's game division in 2012 and 2013... you have to convert to dollar first.
