It's tradition, no need to change the winning formula. Excellent gameplay+ innovation+ creative levels and characters+ brilliant music+ saving the princess from Bowser = A great Mario game = Near peferct game.
Nintendo is still stuck in the 80s as far as storytelling goes.

I didn't want to get into an argument. Cory Barlog did make a valid point and it's sad that many people are choosing to attack him rather than admitting that he's actually right.

Nintendo has been doing this with Mario since the 80's.
Save Princess Peach for all the Mario games, nothing new other than the Wii-mote and graphics.
