I think you're implying I was boasting about games selling 300K - 500K. Those kind of sales are respectable for 3rd party Kinect games with no or very little marketing. Those kind of numbers have encouraged developers to keep supporting Kinect with games designed for the hardware. However, a Move required game hitting 300K is a much more difficult feat. Even 1st party games struggle to do it. A poor selling Kinect title is the average performance of a Move title.

Now what's my point? The Kinect and Move ultimately had the two same goals. 1) Bring in casual audiences 2) Sell software. Move didn't do either very well and sales dropped fast. I assure you Sony's goal with this peripheral was not to sell a bunch at launch and then disappear. Making some money doesn't mean it a hit, because it clearly wasn't enough for Sony to really keep pushing. Now its just there like any random peripheral.

im pretty sure they care mostly about profit. which is what they got with Move.  @Link or your wrong, show me where Sonyb said that. Cause what I read is that it sold better than they thought, unless you think Sony is lying and im more inclined to believe them than what some guy on the internet says.  There not really pushing it??? There are two different bundles coming and 4 first party titles coming, what more do you want? By that logic we can say that MS is not nonKinect titles since they dont have anything coming down the pipe that is not Kinect related

Hmmm... the Everybody Dance bundle is one. I'm guessing the Eyepet sequel is the other? Oh boy, Move is gonna be flying off the shelves now.

Sony never admits their failures. They spin everything as a success and Move is no exception.

Proof please?? They said before Move was even released that it was not expensive to produce and they would profit off of everyone sold. As for sales numbers we have no idea what they thought it would sell. They had low expectations for HR and looked how that turned out, and its not like Kinect has been doing hot this year itself. PS3 has been beaten 360 despite Kinect all year and when it did outdo PS3 that was cause of Gears and that lasted about 3weeks??

I'm not denying that Move made a profit, not that its getting PS3 out of the red though. Anyhow, Sony cashed out with the Move and fans... have Sorcery coming eventually.

Kinect did awesome this year. Didn't you notice Kinect Adventures is the 6th best selling game this year? (It was #5 before Gears 3 launched) Its not even the holidays either, that's when Kinect will sell like hot cakes again. Even if you don't think Kinect is, "doing hot." Atleast it managed to stay relevant beyond the last holiday and its getting plenty of software actually designed for it.

It would be nice to get an official announcement from vgchartz on unique users for move, right now I would guess it is around 5.5 million. If it is near that number or less we may hear of moves discontinuation before the holidays.

No, proof that Move did not do what Sony wanted it to do.

Kinect did awesome?! thats funny cause you were going on about how It was supposed to move hardware and going by sales of 360 this year, Kinect did nothing to move 360 hardware. I dont think it did bad, but I wouldnt say awesome.

this site never had the official numbers for anything, how could anyone?? How would they possibly be able to tell how much people bought more than one controller??

If Sony bundled Sports Champions also outside of America, it'd be far easier to track Move WW unique buyers, instead we know for sure only it's currently in the Top40 in America, beating Balance Board, as Wii Fit Plus is out of it, and when it reenters it, it does behind Sports Champions, while Kinect is constantly first of the three. Elsewhere instead we know Balance Board is still beating Kinect, but we don't know anything for sure, as Sports Champions isn't bundled in the Move starter pack, so its sales are just a fraction of total Move sales. And even with Sports Champions bundled everywhere, we wouldn't know yet for sure the total Move unique buyers, as we can't know how many separate PS Move controllers are bought to complement previously bought PS Eyes.

This. I dont know why people get so hard for these "unique" user numbers, common sense would show that it is impossbile to track anyway and any number someone would come up with is pure speculation. I doubt even Sony cares about that number

Not really. Launching the PS4 with no "social shit" would bring Sony major plus points among the typical hardcore gamer demographic who has been their main audience all along. Nintendo has no chance to sell to these people by default and Microsoft will only hurt themselves if they go for "social shit" while Sony does not. It's all about image.

this ^

sony have always been good with the hardcore market and worried about the social shit after (PS2 for example with mass market penetration with hardcore games then Singstar etc expanded it further)
