Ugh that must suck for that group of people. Atleast Sony is telling people now instead of waiting till the damage is done.
It seems Sony cannot get a break this gen.
Everyone needs to play Lost Odyssey! Any opposition to this and I will have to just say, "If it's a fight you want, you got it!"

You don't have to look further than the article being quoted: "...saw the service brought down for two months and the compromise of millions of user accounts – including credit card details." Way to randomly add shit, VG24/7.
*checks mail* ..nothing.. pfew...

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)
This isn't Sony's fault. What most likely happened, some forum, VG site or blog was hacked into. Many times people link their GamerTags and PSN IDs to these accounts, and naively use the same name and/or password that they use for PSN or Live. This is probably what lead to the 60,000+ Live accounts that were leaked a few months ago.
Remember the Epic and Bethesda forums getting hacked into? Stuff like that, and tons of other random VG related websites. Just go on there and you can see that tons of people link their PSN and Live IDs, I'm guessing at least a few use the same name and pass for multiple things.

THERE WAS NO EVIDENCE TO SUGGEST THAT CREDIT CARD DETAILS WERE TAKEN, why can people not understand this
And good job Sony, telling us straight after it happened and sorting out the situation. People are going to attack you of course, so what matters now is how they respond
Well of course they'd tell you straight and straight away, they don't feel at fault here so...you know...
lol... how is it that i knew who made this thread, just by looking at the title
Journalism is dead. And what's sad is that CNN reports some of the same wrong information this article reports. On a side nmote, my Amazon and Gmail accounts were compromised this year already. Nothing happened with my Amazon account, but someone used my Gmail account to send bogus mass emails out. Company security gets compromised all the time.
I am the Playstation Avenger.
