Ah the human desire to try and pigeon hole everything into convenient genres.

It's action/adventure with regard to the SP and I guess TPS online if you really have to categorize it to one genre.

Can a game be make by multiples genre? So for me Uncharted mixed some genre perfectly becoming one of the best games in the history .

Cinematic platformer

Whatever genre Tomb Raider is, that's what Uncharted is. The single player campaign does everything Tomb Raider does. Tomb Raider has better puzzles, boobs, and enemies and Uncharted has better....everything else. Still, if you swapped Nathan Drake and Lara Croft, you would have the best Tomb Raider ever or the worst Uncharted ever but you wouldn't think twice about the genre.

Now Uncharted does have the best TPS controls this side of Gears of War and there are a ton of gunfights but you can go an hour in Uncharted without shooting anything. In my book, that's an action adventure.

Uncharted is a third person Shooter, the Legend of Zelda is an Action/Adventure Uncharted hast nothing to do with such Games like Zelda.

If Uncharted would be an Action Adventure than Gears of War must also be an Action Adventure, Gears of War and Uncharted is pretty much the same Game when it comes to the gameplay.

its an action platformer. he may be on an adventure but its not an adventure game.

they consider god of war and devil may cry action adventure games, although they ar commonly considered hack and slash games. go to wiki and see wht they say.

N.D considers it an action game with platforming elements. hey they made the game they should know. you can tell your friend to not argue with the developer about wht genre the game is in.

Yes that fits Uncharted is an Action Game, Gears of War is also often listed as Action Game so that fit.

It is just as much a platforming game as God of War is a Platformer/puzzle game.

It is mostly a TPS with the minor genre being platforming, in my opinion. You spend 70-80% of the time hiding behind cover and shooting. The platforming parts aren't actually all that long. I'd say it's about as even a spread as God of War does with it's puzzles and platforming elements.

also the time spent platforming. then again it seems like you spend more time climbing from building to wht ever else you can grab onto, so maybe it's a climbing, action, action adventure game with platforming, puzzle solving and shooter elements?

just taking a shot in the dark here but i think i've mentioned everything the game does other then being /filling epic!
