thats was funny i liked the part where he got to the PS move screen "move along!"

i can definitely relate to him i hate waiting through those screens to get to the title screen too, i dont want to see who made the game, who published and what engine it uses every time i want to game

for the installs and patches i dont even stick around for those since i know they take a longer time but i dont mind them as much b/c i only have to endure them for one time

Steam could use some improvement too. Why doesn't it download the patched version to begin with. Same with psn games. Download the game, then you still need to download the patches?

At least Steam does it all in the background, but sometimes I wonder why can't they make it a bit smarter. Re-installing directx all the time, repairing microsoft .net framework etc etc.
And then you have the occasional epic screw ups like the 9gb patches for the downloadable version of The Witcher 2.

All of this, of course, is just my opinion.

Skyrim 100%'d. Dark Souls 100%'d.
Dark Souls > Skyrim.
Halo 4 is the best damn FPS since Halo 3.

Hey, at least nothing updates as bad as the iPhone/iPad where it just redownloads the whole ap.

After getting used to installing games on the PS3 and the 360, you realize that all you have to do is leave it on for 1/2 hour at the most for the update, (game installation for the 360) and have a snack meanwhile. Or do something else. I can wait 1/2 hour for better performance on the 360 and its usually mandatory on the PS3. If I am feeling to impatient then don't do the updates and play the game offline on the PS3.

One of my biggest problems with modern consoles in a nutshell. This reminds me off my first encounter with GFWL. I just don't have the patience to endure this kind of crap...

Er you wouldn't get half of that on the 360. At most an update (which is one update, never multiple, and they're pretty fast)

Well, most of the time it's not an issue on the 360. Me and my friend ran into one hell of a patch fest when we decided to play some good old Gears last month though. We probably sounded worse than the guy in the vid. My friend hadn't played it in a while so there was tons of stuff to download.

I bet all consoles will be like the PS3 next gen though. Or worse...

I've never come across multiple patchs on any game on 360, and I've reset my cache a few times and had to update most of my library :-S

one was a game install (the second one)

one was a day one patch (the first one)

true no xbox game has a mandantory install, but you are still going to run into patches, and if you havent played a game in a while, or got the game late, you will sometimes have to download multiple patches.

and most ps3 fisrt party games either dont have an install or dont require one (GT5 actually had no mandantory install), so thats what makes Resistance so strange, and that huge day one patch certainly didnt help.

No, they bundle it all into one patch ....

thats a pretty cool thing.

i wonder if it makes it any faster (it seems like it would still be the same amount of data)

Patches on the 360 take literally seconds to download unless you have completely garbage internet. (near dial-up speed)

thats what worries me , as far as I could tell the 18gb DL for witcher 2 was it downloading a fully patched version of the whole game , while I don't know it for fact , I suspect that they wern't happy with the normal patch results and decided that they had to fully intergrate them into the game and that meant a full game redownload , At least I hope thats the case because going down that road fulltime is crap.
