After getting used to installing games on the PS3 and the 360, you realize that all you have to do is leave it on for 1/2 hour at the most for the update, (game installation for the 360) and have a snack meanwhile. Or do something else. I can wait 1/2 hour for better performance on the 360 and its usually mandatory on the PS3. If I am feeling to impatient then don't do the updates and play the game offline on the PS3.
