I don't see any basis for their beliefs that console software will randomly decline for the next 3 to 4 years... Also would be nice to see more than 3 years in the past to get a much better overall trend. I am sure software sales this generation on console have massively overshadowed last gen for instance and shown crazy growth.

so the graph show an increase in PC sales for the last 3 years therefore it will continue to grow.

but the graph shows an increase in consoles sales for the last 3 years of the same magnitude and they decided it ought to go down thereafter.

...sounds like an "analyst" to me.

Reading through the article this is just about the only line that I thought had guaranteed true consequences:
"Now if you don't mind, I'm going to go indulge in some high-resolution gaming."

(Seriously, WHY are they called HD consoles when they play games at such shitty resolutions?)

The main question, i think, is that pcgaming is almost as big as all other home consoles combined, not the projections (which are only projections)

And about the projections, the 360 and PS3 are going to decline since junuary and wii is almost dead compared to 2008... New consoles are arriving in 2013 for sure (Ps4 and xbox3) and will take off one year later.... And probably the doesnt expect wiiu tu be such a success as the wii

Where would you even include tablets? They are neither consoles nor PCs. They're somewhere in between.

Damn it.. next thing to show up is Shio and using these numbers how Cod4 sold 10million on the PC and Starcraft 2 will selll 20 million.. noooo

I wonder if MMOs and F2P Facebook games are counted for the growth, because sadly that is huge market for the PC, and sadly that isn't a great trend.
