How much space is even on a single Xbox disc?

Not sure how you guys can claim good news for a shorter game. Yeah sure a lot of space last time was cut scenes but now all that game play space is even lower.

Ok

You mean, shorter as Tales of Xillia is compared to Tales of Vesperia? A friend of mine finished the game in 25 hours, and that is a full fledged PS3 RPG.

Would you complain about that too?

I doubt that.

Your friend must have zip through it without reading anything. I wont even call that finishing the game imho

Ok. I'll give you that. Since my friend probably used an walkthrough, i would say that maybe 50 hours isn't out of reach (he actually told me that 60 hours with the side-quests and stuff is reasonable).

But that's the truth. It took him less than 30 hours to finish the game.

Anyway, what i meant was that a game doesn't need to span over 80 hours to be good. ToX seems to be a pretty good game even though it can be completed quickly.

I know that CGI takes up alot of space but on the 360 they were compressed to shit and the game was still 3-disc's. I cant imagion the CGI taking that much space when they looked bad.

On PS3 the actual game data for FFXIII was only around 7 Gb, the rest of 20+ Gb were CGI and additional audio data.

7.8GB

Blue Dragon had the entire game on every disc, just the FMV was different.

So its safe to say the XIII-2 will be shorter or have no CGI clips.

Called it.

I prefer they use in game engine and release their games faster. Its a good news in this regard.

I believe pre-rendered video is actually faster to make.

I meant no CGI. In game pre-rendered looks good, its not like in PS1 time, so I prefer that if they can release games faster. FFXIII CGI were awesome, but I prefer if they had release 2 RPGs in that time frame then having awesome CGI. Or I prefer if they focus on gameplay, quest overall playtime and leave CGI aside. In game engine cutscene, prerendered or not, does look good nowadays.

CGI probably wouldn't slow down production as they can just make those cutscenes on the side while the game gets developed. Still, I don't think CGI takes that long to make anyway.

I love CGI, people can call me a graphics whore or whatever they want to, but it looks amazing and so close to real life.

I'll most likely get a ton of time out of the game due to my obsession with trophies but still i'm going to be very disappointed if the games story doesn't take at least 30-40 hours. He claims that the game will be just as long as XIII but remember in the past he claimed that the 360 version of XIII was on par with the PS3 version.
