I don't think that the question is "if" but "when", and probably the answer is "too late"

Pretty much the only reason why MHP was PSP exclusive to begin with was simply because DS wasn't powerfull enough to run proper Mh game. Of course now with new gen it was inevitable that MH would jump also to Nintendo's handheld unless Sony would have moneyhatted Capcom.

Exactly my thoughts.
capcom are a bunch of scumbag thieves. sony is better off without them.

there will be a VITA version
capcom isn't foolish to let go of so much cash
they are relaxed for now that nintendo paid big time for MH4 but when MH doesn't perform that well on 3DS compared to PSP sales, ninty will not pay again and capcom will have to come back to VITA
I think the future of Monster Hunter on Vita will be determined entirely by two things!
#1. The sales performance of MH3G on 3DS, if the game sells very well on 3DS then expect their to be a very good chance MH4 comes to 3DS and is not cancelled or ported.
#2. The sales and performance of Vita in Japan. Monster Hunter accounted for over half of the top 50 software sales for PSP in Japan. If Vita doesn't have huge success in Japan , Capcom will not support Sony.
So there you go its up to Sony and Nintendo. if Nintendo can prove to Capcom that they stand to make a ton of profit on 3DS , then Capcom will stick with Nintendo. If Sony can prove to Capcom that the Vita is both a viable and successful platform in Japan then Capcom will likely support Vita.
If both consoles (Vita and 3DS) are successful in Japan. then I expect Capcom to bring a version of Monster Hunter to Vita. I think Sony is right in the fact that Monster Hunters future is very uncertain. Its Nintendo's chance to prove themselves, but if Sony can prove Vita is a successful platform in Japan they stand to possibly win over some support!

don't forget PSP ver. is Monster Hunter Portable, now 3DS getting tri-G and 4 without a name Portable with it although 3DS is a portable device, so i think there will be Monster Hunter Portable 4th for PSVITA up coming...

Well said.
I doesn't really matter if MH4 goes multi-platform or not. The fact that it isn't a PSV exclusive makes this a big win for the 3DS.
I've never tried a monster hunter game. I want to see what the big deal is. I guess I'll get it on my 3DS,when it comes out.
