How often do you do self imposed challenges in games?

I do them all the time, t... 10 25.64%

I've done a few, only th... 17 43.59%

I've done one or two but... 5 12.82%

Never done one but I would like to. 1 2.56%

I have no interest in them what so ever. 6 15.38%

Total:39

Yeah, I've done so many self imposed challenges that I'll probably forget quite a lot, but I'll mention a few of them:

Like the dude above, I got the Big Boss emblem in MGS4... I cleared it 14 times and got all emblems, I also did silly stuff like beating Vamp on Extreme using the knife only.

I beat many of the bosses in RE4 on Professional mode using the knife only.

In God Hand (probably the hardest game I've ever played) I did a KMS (Kick-me Sign) run on Hard mode (You don't use the GodHand or the Roulette wheel).

In Final Fantasy XII, I did a 122333 challenge (You never level up during the entire game and you finish it that way).

In God of War III, I did a No Upgrade Run on Chaos mode (You don't get any feathers to upgrade the magic bar, don't get any gorgon eyes to upgrade the life bar, don't get any minotaur horns to upgrade the item bar, you don't upgrade any of the weapons or any of the items, you obviously don't use the god's relics or whatever they were called either)

In Parasite Eve 1, after unlocking all floors in the Chrysler building and finishing the game, I started a new game (loading the cleared data) and went to the Chrysler building as soon as you can access it (meaning I was the lowest level possible in the game) and went to fight the boss in the final floor of the building like that. She could 1 hit me with every attack I think, but I beat her without much trouble.

I don't know if stuff like getting the best rank and unlocking everything in RE1, 2, 3, 4, Survivor, etc, is considered a self imposed challenge or if it's considered something normal?

I killed 2 Allosaurus with the knife in the hardest mode in Dino Crisis 2 :P, never tried to do the same with those rare Velociraptors that appear when you kill lots of normal Velociraptors though.

Killed a few bosses in Parasite Eve 2 using only the Tonfa Baton in the hardest mode (Was it called Nightmare mode?)

Tried to get SS rank in all modes in all missions in DMC3, but I ended up with lots of A's and S's and only a few SS's... nothing below A though.

Beat Psycho Mantis on Extreme mode without using any weapons (punching and kicking :P), without receiving any damage and letting him read my mind (didn't switch controllers). I remember it was a veeeeeeery long battle, haha.

Cleared Megaman X4 with X without receiving any damage and without getting any armor parts and without using any weapon you get from bosses (only X's buster).

I beat the 2 final bosses in Nier (the "normal" final boss and the "extra" one you only fight in the last 2 endings) on hard using the pipe from the beginning of the game, lol. But this isn't so hard so I don't know if it's a challenge.

There must be a lot more stuff that I can't remember right now, but yeah, I like doing this kind of stuff, hehe :P

Every so often, when I replay a game, I'll add conditions. Usually it's nothing too extreme. For example I've completed Final Fantasy 1 with just a Red Mage, beat Pokemon HeartGold with a team of Bug Pokemon, and did a True Pacifist run of Fallout: New Vegas. I also tried a Nuzlocke run once, and it was the hardest game I've ever played, in more ways than one.

Yes, I do every single day in Minecraft.

'-'

But more seriously, anybody ever heard of Nuzlocke runs of Pokemon?

I've only played the most basic of Nuzlocke runs - releasing Pokemon if they faint, always capturing the very first Pokemon I find in an area (unless I already have it), and ONLY one Pokemon in each area (top and bottom sections of Rt 1 count as one). I did it in Blue version.

Wow that's pretty intense stuff!

So what if you get damaged by accident in MMX4? Would you restart the level or the game??

...I miss Mega Man X SOOOOO much :(

Just reload the game from the last moment I saved, lol. No way was I going to start all over again xD.

I also miss Megaman X games... they never did a Megaman X9 :S I also wanted a Megaman Legends 3 but it was for 3DS instead of PS3... and then they even cancelled it, lol.

You are a beast....

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Xbox One: What are you doing Dave?

Completing Super Mario World without activating Switch Palaces

Getting through Zeldas without picking up heart containers (3-heart run)

F-Zero GX Story Mode (just playing it)

Getting a population of 500,000 in SNES Sim City without plopping any gift buildings (some maps had ley-lines where "tops" were sure to develop, and I discovered them)

WHERE IS MY KORORINPA 3

I don't think i've really done that before.
