Can Disney beat Universal's record 2015 domestic gross - $2.445 billion?

It will fall short of tha... 4 13.33%

Finding Dory, Doctor Stra... 20 66.67%

It's going to be very cl... 6 20.00%

Total:30

DM2 box office is now ahead of MU both domestically and overseas by the time both movies are done showing in theater I think that DM2 will be ahead by at least $200 million dollars world wide. Also it looks like Pacific Rim will probably not make more then GU2 domestically that okay though since Pacific Rim will do a lot better overseas the GU2 especially in Japan, Korea and China where mechas and Kaiju are very popular.

Horror movies always seem to make money at the box office I think the remake of The Thing was the last one that lost money at the box office.  They are also pretty cheap to make most of then cost less then $50 million dollars to make (most of them cost a lot less) due to the lack of many different location shots and usually the casts feautres a lot of unknow and lesser known actors.

The Conjuring is a refreshing presence both in the world of horror fans, such as myself, and the box office.
Here's to it passing $100M dom.

huge debut for the conjuring...40mil+ for a horror movie? it even beat pacific rims opening from a week ago. just wow!!

It will drop a lot next week though^

I was surprised to see the guy from Office Space in it.

Horror movies are the way to go if a studio needs to make some fast cash. That is for sure.

It has very good WOM, and the fact that it increased a bit on Saturday ( excluding previews) shows that it's not as frontloaded as the majority of horror movies.

You guys do realize that Catching Fire will explode overseas, right ?It might do 2x of what THG did.

Despicable Me 2 is now the highest grossing animated movie world wide it just past the Croods. The Smurfs 2 is the only movie that has a change at surpassing it but only if it is a huge hit overseas. DM2 should also be the front runner for the best animated movie Oscar the only movie that can challenge it is Disney's Frozen which will end up being better looking but I doubt it will be a better movie.

The Hunger Games has to become hugely popular overseas (make more then twice as much overseas then domestic) to come even close to the second Hobbit movie which is pretty much guranteed to make over a billion world wide.

I was so pumped as group together to see Pacific Rim!

Then...they all want to see it on iMax 3D. Ugh.

Still the film had enough awesome robot v. monster moments to overcome those glasses. Cannot wait to see it in 2D in the future.

What's wrong with the glasses? Too small?

Pysically it was uncomfortable and pinched on my head.

Bigger issue was how it nearly ruined the viewing experience.  I had to stop watching (and I counted) on thirteen occasions meaning I missed various parts and sections of fights I would have enjoyed otherwise.  So much rain and sparks and action made it an unpleasant experience where I could not just watch the film.  I have no idea why someone would pay double for this ($14!?) experience as I found it distracting, nauseating and just off putting.
