$236M Weekend.
World War Z's opening weekend gross is the 2nd highest ever for a 2nd place movie.
So World War Z is already the highest grossing zombie movie ?
I remember to read that the previous best was Zombieland and before that Dawn of the Dead (2004)

It has,by far, the biggest opening for a zombie movie, but it has yet to beat Warm Bodies from this year ( $66.3M) and Zombieland ( $75.6M).
It also has the biggest budget for a zombie movie, but it has been advertised more as an end of the world movie rather than a zombie one. The later is a much less popular genre.

Ah yeah I forgot Warm Bodies. Another movie I have to watch.
For the rest I looked at WW numbers. Not sure how reliable these are as I'm only occasionally looking for movie revenue.

The accuracy and/or completeness of the tracking in the foreign markets.
So Man of Steel may end up below Superman Returns? It's not a great movie in many ways. Has similar flaws to the Dark Knight movies. Especially on repeat viewings.

World War Z will easily reach 400 mill WW, and quite possibly 500. Not bad for a movie most dubbed as a flop before it was released.
I was walking down along the street and I heard this voice saying, "Good evening, Mr. Dowd." Well, I turned around and here was this big six-foot rabbit leaning up against a lamp-post. Well, I thought nothing of that because when you've lived in a town as long as I've lived in this one, you get used to the fact that everybody knows your name.
