What do you mean rumors? its confirmed already.

and it looks freaking ugly.

I should have said after the rumors being confirmed (although I still want to wait till the official announcement but I know they are basically confirmed).  I took the rumor part out of the op.  I do agree that the add on looks pretty bad.  Hopefully, the eventual redesign will look 100% better than that.

TGS is like a week away, you should wait until next week when we learn more about this second analog nub thing.  if this is only for MH and it is optional at that then you'll have no reason to wait.  if nintendo puts it weight behind it then you'll know a redesign is coming.  a one week wait won't kill you and you'll have a much much better idea of what to expect from nintendo.

Yea, I'm guessing things will be more clear within the week.  I'm wondering myself if it is just going to remain an optional add-on for MH (and a few other games).  It will be interesting what Nintendo does when it comes to redesigning the 3DS.  If I had to guess I would say that this will just be optional add-on and the 3DS lite (or whatever) will not come with a second analog.  However, it wouldn't surprise me too much if they went the other route and included it.

yeah, i agree.  it could go either way.  i think nintendo was stupid for not including the second analog in the first place (hello, didn't they listen to all of the complaints that the psp had??) but i also think it would be stupid to include it now.  not sure what i'd do if i were nintendo.  the price cut now kind of feels like a firesale.  :/

Besides being so ugly to disgust even pigs, chickens, dogs, flies and beetles, that add-on looks clunky too, I'd wait for the stick to be integrated in a redesigned 3DS.

I was planning on getting a 3DS in October or December, but now I am not so sure. I can't believe Nintendo allowed this thing. I would rather not buy a 3DS and have a redesign with a new control setup come out. I didn't care about the Gameboy redesigns, the GBA redesigns, and the DS redesigns, but the 3DS getting another analog stick would be a HUGE difference.

3DS - Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney (Trilogy) (2005/2014)

PC - Borderlands 2 (2012)
PC - Deep Rock Galactic (2020)

Yes. I am. 3DS just released, and very few great games are out for it. Yes Mario Kart and Super Mario come out in November, but do you really want to own a 3DS with a 4 hour battery life just so you can play these games a year earlier? Besides, there is no Fire Emblem announced yet. If you are patient, I'd wait for a limited edition 3DS, just so yours can be different. My Wii is Red, and I love it!

I only say yes because the battery life is really bad. I still have my first gen DS, but the original DS wasn't really upgraded except to make it smaller. However I did wait for Advance Wars: Dual Strike to release, and I waited for Nintendo to release it in a better color (electric blue), and I'm happy I did that because not only does the original silver look aged, it's ugly too.

My original GBA I replaced with the SP, but no one saw a redesign that sexy coming.

So wait. If you have a DS, play that for now. There are so many excellent DS titles to choose from. If you need idea's, you can take a look at this thread, and maybe vote.

over reaction still?
The only thing being confirmed here is that the attachment is for MHTG. It's only 1 game and you're not going to see it outside Japan until at least 2012 anyways.

IMO. It's still silly so many people freaking out over this.

I bought one and couldnt be more disappointed with it, its probably the worst thing I bought this year. But you seen to be a big nintendo fan and would get WAY more value out of it then I would.

If you can hold out on the games, then sure. A redesign is inevitable.
