No doubt MW3 is going to outsell BF3.  By a ton.

Black Ops sold 13 millions on xbox360 and 10.5 million on PS3 (23.5 million combined not counting wii or pc).  Can BF3 take enough bite out of MW3 sales?  Less than 20 million combined (only xbox360 & PS3).  (I realized BF3 is gonna be big on PC, but for this discussion we're not going to take into account for wii or pc sales)  So far preorder for MW3 is similar to black op, but I don't think it's have similar longevity for sales.

I will say that the next edition of battlefield (BF4 or Bad Company 3) will outsell the competing call of duty game.

No MW3 will still do at least as good as Black Ops

I find this irratating. You guys(BF fanboys) already know BF3 has no chance at outselling MW3 so you say "the next battlefield game will definitely outsell the next COD". Then next year you'll say "the next Battlefield". It's annoying.....
Call of Duty has no chance of losing its throne so save your predictions until we have a few months of pre-orders for both games.

Anyway BF fanboys hate COD and say that yearly releases are going to kill the franchise and I GUARANTEE that EA will release Bad Company 3 next year. It's no different than Black OPs/Modern Warfare cycle.

Question in the thread title was the opposite of question in poll.

OT - I have yet to see any evidence that the sucess of one game can significantly lower the sales of another game in the long run. If MW3 fails to sell as expected, it will be because of MW3's failings.

To outsell Call of Duty, Battlefield will have to outdo what people find appealing about Call of Duty, and that certainly isn't a more competent single-player storytelling experience, or having the best graphics or physics engine.  Battlefield 3 would be best to try to do something different that fans of the Call of Duty franchise would also like to get.

For the Battlefield franchise to outsell Call of Duty, it is going to have either draw in people not playing now, or cause people into Call of Duty to stop playing it and playing Battlefield instead.  As it is now, despite all this trollbait news items, I don't see anything coming down which hints that Battlefield will outsell Call of Duty.

What basis does anyone have for thinking NEXT YEAR than Battlefield franchise will suddenly start to outsell Call of Duty?

Halo Reach didn't seem effect Black ops on 360, so i doubt BF3 can.
But MW3 and BF3 are more similar then Halo and BO.

I think they will take a few fans.

Yes, less than 20 million for MW3. I believe MW3 will sell 11 million on Xbox and 8.9 million on PS3, which totals only 19.9 million.

Battlefield 3 will sell 7 million on Xbox and 6 million on PS3, totals 13 million.
