Forums - Sales - Can BF3 lower the sales of MW3 (less than 20 million combined)?

Will MW3 (xbox and PS3 combined) sell more than 20 million?

Yes 32 50.00%

No 25 39.06%

No (BF3 will outsell MW3) 7 10.94%

Total:64

Modern Warfare 3 will probably be pushing 25 Million lifetime on 360/PS3.

Battlefield 3 wont be affecting CoD on consoles at all. PC, possibly. Consoles, no.

Yes, MW3 will suffer an impact in its sales and BF3 will benefit from that, but the main cause will probably be fans tired of CoD and wanting to try something else.

Also, after the Steam vs Origin thing and the news that have emerged about it, EA may have lost a lot of sales on the PC.

I find this irratating. You guys(BF fanboys) already know BF3 has no chance at outselling MW3 so you say "the next battlefield game will definitely outsell the next COD". Then next year you'll say "the next Battlefield". It's annoying.....
Call of Duty has no chance of losing its throne so save your predictions until we have a few months of pre-orders for both games.

Anyway BF fanboys hate COD and say that yearly releases are going to kill the franchise and I GUARANTEE that EA will release Bad Company 3 next year. It's no different than Black OPs/Modern Warfare cycle.

I bet EA will release another FPS to compete with next year's COD and I bet it's Medal of Honor instead.

Are gamers that gullible? Medal of Honor is just Battlefield with a different name. It will use the same engine and it will be a modern military fps, whats the difference?

Of course they will. And it's not a bad strategy at all.

Instead of releasing the same game year after year like CoD (and by "the same game" I mean new  iterations of the franchise) they have 2 franchises that allows them to launch a new game of said franchise every 2 years. That also has the benefit of having 1 studio per franchise (not 3 that have to work together to make 1 game) and giving the developers more time to come with something new.

why do people assume that just cause some MIGHT not buy MW3 they will get BF3 and vice versa?? Has it ever accorded to anyone that people might just get tired of military FPSs, period? I know i am

A little confused about the thread title and the poll question. I voted yes: I think MW3 will sell 20m+ but I also think it won't best Black Ops.

I expect MW3 to end up around 20m

e=mc^2

Gaming on: PS4 Pro, Switch, SNES Mini, Wii U, PC (i5-7400, GTX 1060)

i voted #3, but i know it won't happen

BF3 will not take out COD anytime soon and Medal of Honor is not going to help EA fight Activision either.

BF4 has a better chance of taking COD out
