the sales will be massive... now the price was cut and the sales will be huge, will we finally get the developers work on a fucking 3DS game already?

The truth is probably halfway between those two points. Likely the price-cut sees the group of people who just want to buy a Nintendo handheld even without games, but who were put off by the price even still, making the initial run in this case. I mean, the 3DS still lacks a killer app, so it would defy all logic if this cut were ultimately sustainable all on its own, though the boost from the cut might segue into the more natural sales coming from the 3DS' upcoming heavy hitters |
Good points. I still maintaing a redesign with a better battery life is also important, and would help this even better than a price drop (as the DSLite redesigns didn't come with price drops at their launches).
A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Looking like a massive week for 3DS but I'm still on the fence, I just want all the flaws polished in the 3DS lite so I'm waiting for that one.

I told her the new price and it seems that she will plan on getting it for them. I really believe that the price was a big barrier. Now that the price is down i think sales will explode. |
I also know someone with 3 kids and at the old price it was too expensive. I think he'll have to buy 3 3DSs until this year's end. :)
Need something off Play-Asia? http://www.play-asia.com/
I'm really curious to see how high sales stay without a big game, but I think we won't be able to see that experiment through because the Marios will be here soon enough lol.

I'm actually pretty shocked I thought the price cut would be a mild boost but instead its seen a huge increase. It also helps we have several promotions going on right for the 3DS besides the price cut which are helping drive sales. |
Glad to hear that..let's see how it fares on a worldwide scale.
Everyone thinking the sales might taper off, remember StarFox, Kid Icarus , MarioKart and Super Mario 3D Land are all coming later this year. Theirs no way that those titles will not be able to maintain a boost in sales, unless PSVita somehow comes out of nowhere and kills 3DS off.

Well, Apple, supposedly, to swoop in and kill off console gaming.
