Alright so this thread isn't aimed at American's , British, Russian's and Japanese. Its aimed at Canadian's Mexican's, Cuban's, Rwandan's and people from every weaker country on earth. Right now Canada is improving its military by leaps and bounds but is it enough, what about your country is it investing in the military?

Do you think weaker military powers should invest in enhancing their militaries?

I hate how every time a war breaks out people go "Whats America going to do", "Whats Russia going to do". It seems that the countries with strong militaries are always the ones making decisions and having an influence in global affairs. What if in the future their was an attack on Canada and instead of everyone asking what "America is going to do" they asked "What is Canada going to do".

I'm sick and tired of the world looking at my country as a weakling. In WWII we had the third largest navy in the world. Other countries like Japan had huge militaries.

What about your country, did it used to be a super power (Militarily) and if so do you want it to return to being one? Or do you think its better that your country not invest and let other countries do the fighting? Whats your opinion buy weapons or remain a weaker country?

What's wrong with the "stronger" countries invest less in their militaries? We all have seen that even when you spend billions of dollars a guy in a cave and an AK47 can fight you to the end of time...

I'm not a fan of anyone investing in their military. The US war machine is a modern day disgrace.

ABSOLUTELY!!!!

I'm going with no. I don't quite see the point of Canada having a military. All we go and do is peace keeping, which is fine, but humanitarians and charitable aid workers already provide that service. I'd rather money be diverted away from military spending and used on something like infrastructure, or education.

Why? Becuse they have the best military in the history of mankind and no one dares to throw a rock at them? Great military earns great respect among other countries

arm race??...a beefy Canada will achieve nothing except increasing your pride and patriotism.

- The influence of America around the globe is waning.
- Russia and America agreed to cut down there nuclear warheads.
- Co-operation and Diplomacy can achieve the same end results as War or Military Might

Instilling fear in others is not a sign of greatness.

Spending a larger portion of your money on military prowess than anything else is not a sign of intelligence.

Signing unprecedentedly massive contracts with arms dealers that will mould the future of the countries economy is not a sign of vision.

Having all that power and using it in the middle east as opposed to Zimbabwe/Rwanda/Ivory Coast etc. all is not a sign of integrity.

EDIT: If the US were to have a war against China in 2 years then I would say they don't stand a chance.

I like this. I like this very much.

The Netherlands is just getting rid of all it's tanks, which were only needed if the Soviets ever came rolling in.

I'd say it's best to integrate European armies, so that not every nation needs to have it's own army and navy and airforce (and nukes).
