In 2012 Konami’s Metal Gear franchise will celebrate it’s 25th anniversary but this year the series marks another milestone. According to Kojima Productions’ manager of public relations, Jiro Oishi, since Snake’s adventures first began in 1987 Metal Gear games have sold over 30 million copies worldwide.

Congrats! I have never played a single MGS but I know it has a huge fanbase and is a well respected franchise.

shame on me i played all the console ones besides MGS4 :O

mgs on ps1 was my favorite followed by snake eater i got to play the nes ones with my MGS3 subsistence version

since then i thought MSG4 would get a subsistence/substance type version with maybe trophies so i held off on it

I'd like to see a few chapters based on Snake's earlier career as a spy... I've been wanting that ever since MGS1, and if Kojima could make 5 full games (so far) about Snake post-retirement, I can only imagine how many cool missions there must've been when he was in his 20's and 30's...

Would love to play through the missions that made Snake a legend.
