Well considering the Nielsen system for tv ratings in the States, I'd say the poll doesn't seem so bad. Tv-shows are cancelled based on the data from how many people exactly?

Having said that, I don't think it's true, since anyone can vote in such a poll, whether they own a 3ds or not.

That is it's biggest flaw and why it isn't selling, people think it's a tarted up DS like you said.

Meanwhile, these same people seem to be doing ok differentiating between each annually released iDevice. The mind boggles.

How do you know how 4Gamer conducted it's poll? Who says it was a poll availible for all users like one done here on VGChartz? Who says it wasn't exclusive to 3DS owners as 4Gamer says it was? Their survey's could have been conducted several ways. It could have been done over the phone or maybe theirs a list of what users on their site own 3DS and they only polled those users.

Its really stupid to count out a poll if you don't know how 4Gamer conducted it. We just have the results and 4Gamers word to go on. Much as we do most poll's. When elections come around they don't explain how they got the results (All of the time) yet we often believe them if they say they polled Liberal's then we usually believe they polled Liberals.

Now these results aren't all bad for Nintendo, the stuff about software sales seems pretty promising. I take this poll for what it is a poll conducted with Japanese 3DS owners. Honestly the results aren't that far fetched either its not like they are unbelievable!

After a bit of research (traveled to Japan and spoke to their king--it was an epic adventure! You had to be there...) and got some clarity on this poll. There's a bit of a translation issue. 100% of the Japanese are satisfied with their 3DS purchase. There was a bunch of guys that bought THREE DS's at once. These guys are the ones that got polled.

See. I knew there was a logical explanation.

There's always gonna be a portion of people who aren't happy with a product so I wouldn't go jumping off a bridge just yet. There were all sorts of reports about the wii in it's early days that never stopped.

There's always gonna be negative publicity too...it means nothing at the end of the day.

If anything all the negative talk on these forums has done more damage to my perception of nintendo than any media source.

Tell that to a statistician. The basic rules of statistics is what I stated.

But as menx64 pointed out, its only an online poll so its not controlled enough. But I personally believe it's close to the truth.

as a Nintendo fan i've already lost interest in the 3DS.

Those polls arent the most reliable - the question was probably leading - 'are you angry there is a price cut?' which would lead people to reply yes. Even assuming the poll is accurate, this doesnt necessarily mean anything - gamers arent always the most reliable about sticking to their positions and im wondering how many of those polled are actually planning to do anything about it (return their 3DS or sell it on). Also im wondering whether these people stay angry once the new upcoming games are released.
