Plus what's the point of buying a "k" processor if you don't want to overclock. Might as well get a 2500 then. |
None, but he did say he may do so...

Then IMO it's better to rack up 40$ and get at least Cooler Master Hyper 212+ for overclocking. Will give lower temps and noise. Check if the case can fit it though.

The thing is that SC2 looks almost as good on Low settings. And it doesn't need 30fps to look and play smoothly, more like 15-20. And on that, 4v4 is smooth on my five-year-old Intel integrated graphics on my laptop. So essentially any computer made in the last 5 years can play SC2 to its full gameplay potential. |
Specs of that laptop?

You can guess by its age... it's probably a Pentium M or a Core 2 Solo, at stretch... and integrated graphics aren't anything to write home about.

Back in 2006 I got my laptop with 2GB of RAM, a 2.0GHz Core 2 Duo, and 256MB of VRAM in the form of a Radeon X1300.
I have no idea if that can run Starcraft 2 but I have sincere doubts about maxing it

I thought C2D's only reached laptops in 2007... must've been quite a nice purchase back then, haha. I missed that whole processor gen, jumping from an Athlon 64x2 to an i7.
And I share your doubts... but only because of that GPU, really. I hate the fact that in laptops, you really have to overpay for one with a really good GPU. At least in my exp.

I have a similar laptop and it can barely play SC2.

Apparently C2D's already were already out there then, so I need to refresh my memory.

1.3GHz Core 2 Solo, GMA X3100
I didn't expect it to play SC2 either.
