Well, I do think it will be The Dark Knight Rises.

That being the case, Spiderman, The Hobbit, and Ice Age will all be massive as well. Hell, with all of the amazing movies coming out next year, we may even be surprised that certain movies don't make as much as the past one because people have to pick between them.

Edit: Also you have to remember, I think The Dark Knight sales may have been slightly "inflated" due to the Ledger death (i.e. people going to see if because it was his last movie, and it was in the news so much because of this)

Ledger's death did wonders for him at the Oscars too (and other awards shows too). It's sad that you gotta die to get attention...

Where is The Hobbit? That could quite easily be the biggest.

Out of this list though I'd have to say TDKR by a mile. And they are makeing Riddick 3? That is the best news I've heard all week!!!

The fanboy in me picks Resident Evil: Retribution...
The realist in me picks The Dark Knight Rises...

LOL, I had no ideea that TDKR releases in 2012. Out of that list it's biggest competition is The Amazing Spider-Man, which will be in 3D, and if it's good enough could probably beat it. There may be some other blockbuster that surprises though.

You have no ideea how wrong you are,The amazing Spider-man will be lucky to hit 750M WW,after the dissapointing SM3.And reboots  usually gross less than the originals,so that's another minus.

The Hobbit will be the real and only competitor for TDKR.

The Batman reboots seem to be doing much better than the original movies.

TDK yes,Batman Begins,no.Give me another example other than batman, and you get a cookie.

Ledger didn't get an Oscar because he died...damn it man, have you seen TDK and how he plays the Joker?it's amazing. His death had nothing to do with his brilliant performance.

Casino Royale (if it's considered a James Bond reboot, which it should be). It's the most successful Bond film ever. Also, the 1989 Batman was more successful than the previous Batman movies. Batman Begins grossed more than Batman & Robin (which was a considerably more underwhelming film than Spider-Man 3). The Star Wars prequels (they're also reboots in a way) did better than the original trilogy. Plus, The Amazing Spider-Man also has 3D.

No, but his death had a lot to do with him winning. The Oscar's have certain biases, and there's no way Ledger would've even been nominated for playing a comic book villain (regardless of the praise) had he not died. He did deserve to win (by far) though.

Yea i know. I just hope universal studios does not try to over do it like they did with the Fast and the Furious Franchise. :)

Um your serious right? The Dark Knight Rises will destroy everything. Spiderman should sell good too. But The Dark Knight Rises will get maybe 1.5 billion-2 billion of it gets good reviews, released in 3D and plenty of hpye.

It's not going to be released in 3D, so your prediction is pretty improbable.
