Casino Royale (if it's considered a James Bond reboot, which it should be). It's the most successful Bond film ever. Also, the 1989 Batman was more successful than the previous Batman movies. Batman Begins grossed more than Batman & Robin (which was a considerably more underwhelming film than Spider-Man 3). The Star Wars prequels (they're also reboots in a way) did better than the original trilogy. Plus, The Amazing Spider-Man also has 3D.

Casino Royale is a different story.The Bond franchise has had several reboots,some were a mistake,some were the right choice.This is the first reboot Spiderman is getting.The star wars prequels are NOT a reboot,they are a part of the star wars story-line.

And adjusted for inflation prices both Casino Royale and the star wars prequels are much lower compared to their originals.

It's not going to be released in 3D, so your prediction is pretty improbable.

It will be released in IMAX,and it has a chance to beat Avatar's IMAX gross,since it will be a must-see in IMAX.

It has no 3D.

Heath Ledger's performance combined with his death created an unprecedented amount of media attention that will not be present for The Dark Knight Rises. I know many people who went to see the movie just for The Joker.

Batman is mostly popular in the US where the movie industry isn't thriving as much as it used to especially this year. It's all about the foreign market. Unless they invest a lot in advertisement in foreign territories I don't see it doing as much as other movies such as The Hobbit which has a lot of potential for being related to The Lord of the Rings.

either the hobbit or the Dark Knight Rises, both will do 1 billion-2 billion +.

but looking at the list, boy Hollywood are really running out of ideas. A Godzilla reboot? Does it really need a reboot. Also another ghost busters and another men in black?

I dont know if i can take Will Smith not serious after doing movies like the pursuit of happiness and stuff.

In that case you shouldn't use grosses without inflation either and comparing to past is pointless. During 60's biggest movie of the year could gross 50 million and it was considered megahit. I believe there was no movies which made over 100 million on their initial release before 70's. Sure, couple movies did but only after several re-releases. According to many, Jaws was first movie ever to get past 100 million without re-release. Even Gone with the Wind had several re-releases (and couple decades) before it got to 100 million. And in most european countries lists are always about tickets sold, not gross. At least here in scandinavia only tickets sold are announced to public.
