Is it just me, or has Japanese development as a whole kind of sunk down this gen?

It's just you. Capcom's still one of the finest developers the industry have. Even thought they milk some of their best franchise, they still come up with new big budget games.

It's all good to me. I like the fan-service of MvC3, and the more the better. Same with SFIV. I really don't care if they milk their best-sellers this way.

The only real bad mistake they did in the past few times, was cancel MML3 without any logic explanation. That was a real FU to the fans.

It wasn't illogical. The project had never technically been greenlit for production. Doubtlessly hundreds of potential big-name games from big-name developers just like it have gotten to the stage that MML3 got to before it was canned, just that Inafune's efforts to get MML3 recognized meant that the community was very much aware of the process the game was going through, and so when it hit that point that so many games have: rejected pre-production with concept assets, it's being taken as this huge thing

I'm not saying they were right to cancel it, but there's nothing untoward about how they arrived at the decisoin.

it's not just capcom, it's any dev releasing DLC then game of the year edition with the exclusive dlc whatver.

OT: I learned to never buy Capcom games on their first iteration. I hope others do too.

Release DLC on the disc is so STUPID. 1 save game STUPID. Re-releasing the same game multiple times on the same platform with a "complete edition". They love milking every cent they can get and it's showing.

Couldnt agree more, the pathetic thing is im so in love with their fighting games, Ill keep buying. Actually i didnt buy S4 ACE, not even the DLC and im not sure about new MVsC3, all my friends are pissed at that. But i will get SFxTekken and SF3 online addition when they both come out. What is even more frustrating is they have franchises that are getting no love when there is 2-3 RE games coming a year. Screw that franchise, how many times can i fight Wesker and go back to Raccoon City?? Where is BOF, why is Mega Man getting the shaft??
