But the point is there are ppl in this thread saying it is OK to call black "nigger" cause black ppl call eachother that. And that is not the case at all.  There is slang in all cultures and all languages, doesnt change the fact that they are different terms with completely different meanings.

As I said before I would challenge anybody in this thread that thinks its ok to call black ppl "nigger" to walk up to the next random black person they see and call them that. If it is indeed OK, no harm should be done right? Dont forget to bring your keyboard though, you might need it to shield your face.

i was raised to believe that the word is an offensive derogatory term and therefor choose not to use it. but when i hear many black people call each other both "Nigga" and "nigger" its evident to me that it is no longer an offensive term to them not necassarly other black people who dont use it. so if i did choose to partake in calling them that term, they have no right to be offended, nor should i be reprimanded for it.

on i side note, i think the term "African-American" is totally rediculous, and will never use it either. i will only call them a black person or a person, or if i know their name, call them by name

Once again since you are yet another person that think its ok be my guest to go find your nearest black guy and call them that. Why do I have a feeling we have a lot of undercover internet racist on this board all the sudden? Everyone seems so quick to try to "ok" something that just isnt OK.

and anybody can't just take ownership,one race taking ownership of a word is itself racist that other races can't use it.

Just because you dont agree it doenst change the fact that those 3 words you just listed are all different words.  And different groups have taken ownership of words or variations of in the past, it happens. Once again to use the example of "gay" meaning homosexual, that wasnt alway the meaning of that word but it is used as such now. I understand ppl not agreeing with the use of "nigga" that they dont see it as appropriate, thats its too similar. But it is still a different word with a different meaing.

im not sure you are being serious, but in case you are (i hope not though).

how the hell are Nigger and Nigga not the same word. are morning and mornin' not the same word, is running and runnin' not the same word. is water and wata' not the same word. many people have an accent of sorts, including lots of black people, so a lot of them, not all say things like nigga and mornin, while others say nigger and morning.

and no, i have never nor have any desire to use the word nigger or nigga to a black person (or any other person for that matter). but if for some unforseeable reason i hear a black person calling each other nigger or nigga, and i desire to call them that too. they have forfetted the right to be offended by the term

Im just gonna agree to disagree on this. Im not gonna contimue in a discussion that has turned into more of a smartass attack on me personally than what the topic is about (not just you either). Maybe there is such a different point of view based on area's lived in or exposure to culture in question. This has not been some mindless rant on my part, this has all been based on personal experiences with black culture. Let that be friends, girlfriends, roommates, etc. So maybe that is why there us suge a HUGE difference in perspective.

I really did not care at first so i just continued playing not replying back. But after a while it got really really annoying. So right before we finished the level i immediately turned of the xbox just for the simple fact that the people i was playing with were annoying racist morons, And judging by there accent i would say they were either British or Irish.

I never really experinced this level of racism when i played online games on my PS3 or my PC, So i dont know if its just XBL or that i just ran into some bad people in it.

Anyways, Do yall think this type of racist behavior will ever go away or atleast die down a little as time moves foward??

It would really be a shame if we go into next gen with people still acting like this online..  :(

I was at my grandma's house and I heard people talking in the street, they were picking haloween costumes.... insert same comments..... same story.

This is people, not games, not gamers, not anything, just people and it'll be the exact same thing in the other gens (relating to your poll) as it's people, not the game or any other factor.

But if it makes you feel better, racism doesn't go only against black people, it goes everyway, and also thowards the white people, just depends in what part of the world you are, and sometimes just what area you live in.... the internet bringing everything closer, you'll find racist people on your path again.
