In the OP the MS exec commented that he felt MS was the best in sales and quality. Obviously its not the best in sales but quality is completly subjective which has been my point from the beginning. Rol was right in that sales Ninty is the best but thats not really what the thread is about even though thats what so many people are commenting on. Its the simple idea of whether or not MS has the best 1st party overall, which is totally subjective.

I don't particuraly care what the MS exec said to be honest, he's nothing more than a mouth for the company what do you want him to say? I don't generally care for console wars and they bore me so I'm not going to waste time arguing about nerdy stuff. I still stand by my point which is that all three 1st parties are on par with one another.

Doesn't that make them second party then? And as far as I'm aware, don't Epic own the IP to Gear?

It'd be interesting to know what the stats are for "true" first party titles rather than including franchises like Gears and Resistance.

You need to relax man, the Wii's great and all and Wii Sports was certainly a big deal but there's no doubt that new IP hasn't exactly been encouraged much from Nintendo first party. And that's not really a terrible thing I guess considering how damn well Mario and the rest sell. It's just a small knock on their overall strategy but I'm in no way implying Nintendo doesn't do a great job.

You need to be able to realize that just because someone has a negative point about the Wii its not the end of the world.

I am relaxed I'm just sitting here haveing some debate with people and I guess you can take criticizm of Nintendo but you instantly jumped all over me because I mention 1 negative thing about them. That's all, and I mentioned far more good about them than negative.

I DO care about gameing and debating that stuff. What I don't care about is list wars and people running around trying to trash the "rival" console which there is a lot of in this thread. My whole point this whole time is how silly that idea is that any of the current 1st party's are SOOOOO much better than the others. Everyone is going to have favorites but the evidence is right in front of us, all 3 companies are seeing great sales and success this generation unlike previous ones. Everyones doing a good job.

I wouldn't argue that they know how to make blockbusters year after year. Microsoft has survived this gen taking huge third party exclusives from Sony, fundinng second party and gathering a wealth of third party titles in the formative years of the console. Their only  first party Blockbuster is Halo. It's the only first party title they have that has people wrapping around corners. The rest are all third party. Gears will be the last and the rest will be multiplat. The thing Microsoft has a strong force in is the multiplayer online shooter market, which will serve them well if they keep that base covered for next gen.
