Forums - Sales - America's preorder charts 9th July.

Fantastic to see MW3 number slow down from last week. I hope Gears 3 reached Halo levels of sales.

@ BenV

the problem with your logic is that

1. Gears 3 is closer to release and had a very successful BETA and great E3 Buzz, retailers are more likely to be persuading customers to preorder it, every time I go go a game store they always ask me to...

2. Most games this week saw a decrease for some reason, and PS3 games never really have high preorder numbers.

3. Preorders dont just happen over night, games like GRFS and Rage have been available for preorder for well over 12 months. Halo CEA was just announced last month. Regardless, Halo CEA is just a full price HD remake with a few Reach maps. I doubt its going to sell more than 2 million units.

Are you saying halo ce will sell 2 million first week or lifetime?

There's a couple problems with YOUR logic

1. I AM a game retailer.  We aren't pushing Gears at all the entire front window displays in Gamestop country wide are MW3 posters.  Trust me I know I just did the new marketing on Sunday night.

2.  The PS3 games don't get pre-ordered is a complete and utter myth.  I sell them every single day Vgchatz just simply undertracks them as was proven with Black Ops last year.

3.  It doesn't matter how long games have been available for pre-order I've posted hard factual numbers that pretty much negate what your trying to say.  You expect me to belive that games like Batman and Ghost Recon who as a franchise have only barely broken 2 million units are outpaceing a Halo game in its strongest region which as a franchise the series low for the FPS is about 6 million units?  Oh and Halo CEA isn't full priced its only $39.99

Listen believe whatever you want thats fine and if you want to buy these numbers go for it.  But I've seen hard REAL numbers and these are just simply wrong.  Vgchartz is a great site but their pre-order tracking isn't.
