Forums - PC - 360 games on Windows 8?

I love emulation. Xbox 360 emulation should open up all kinds of goodies like 3D gaming, full HD and maybe even 3 screen gaming. Dolphin emulator does all these things for Wii games.

The original source for all of this is that horribly worded article on insideris (whoever the hell they are), and it sounds like they simply got "Live on PC" confused with "360 games on PC". They even say "More details about 360 games on PC" as if this has already been discussed before.

this doesn't sound likely but if true it would be pretty cool.

Smart idea, but pretty complicated for devs, I'd think as every 360 game would have to have code that would no longer be maximized for a single configuration but open enough for the nearly infinite variables that exist in PC gaming.

However, I do like how MS is showing the Win8 will be almost he same thing across all product lines, PC, mobile, tablet, etc.

I don't think that's it. It sounds like they jsut maximize it on the 360 and the PC can just play that due to emulatoin or whatever. I mean, even a 6 year odl PC can play 360 games at this point so most PCs in themid low range would still be able to benefit from it without any extra developer work. If the developer felt like actually making a  lower scalability, or higher for that matter, then that's up to them.

I was thinking about the neXtbox and not so much 360 games. My bad. Yeah for 360 it could just be an emulator to play the games. But, I don't see them doing that until win8 comes out AND the neXtbox. This way they can offer the biggest backlog possible on win8 for 360 support.

With those two conditions it would not be a bad deal considering you can just plug in a 360 controller too.

it has been confirmed by microsoft vice president

pretty obvious now that the xbox 3 is coming quick

its all about moving from a console to a service, and charging PC gamers to play games will struggle when you have Steam and many other free gaming portals. But the what MS will do will be making a universal games service thats able to play games steamed to your tv, windows phone/tablet and pc and there will be a console but it will be a Digital distribution only console.

But will people want a DD only console and would they want to pay a montlhy fee to play there games, or will they stick with Nintendo and SONY with a disk based console.

Of Course That's Just My Opinion, I Could Be Wrong

I have a theory. I have zero evidence back back this up but it's just a hunch. If someone is smart enough to build, or even just get a friend to build, a computer, then they are too smart to be paying for online exprience, one which they can get for free and better on the very same machine they are using.....

Ha ha, you believe this shit ? :) It's impossible for modern PC's to emulate X360.

Why? My video card by itself, without counting my actual RAM, CPU, etc. is alreay more powerful than the etirety of the 360. Factor in the rest and an emulator done by the actual company making the console, and even with inefficinecies the 360 is laughably weak and would be able to be emulated on hardware several years old.

Haha, I doubt that this is true, but if it is, then I'm never getting a 360. Gonna build a powerful gaming rig this year, which makes owning the console null for the few JRPG's and SHMUPs I want it for.
