I suppose it's personal opinion. I like them both equally :)

RD is still my favourite...

I'm somewhat surprised that Radiant Dawn is so many VGChartz members' favorite FE. It's my favorite as well (over 300 hours logged on it), but I was used to so much opposition (I came from GameFAQs, after all....). Path of Radiance and FE7 come in close behind.

I started out with FE11, but I really loved the character interaction in the Wii and GCN FE games. Jill, Edward, and Haar were my favorite characters.

To tell you the truth, I'm having doubts about FE12's international release. FE:SD was localized within six months of its Japanese launch, but it's been more than a year since FE12 (or FE3DS, whatever) released in Japan, and I haven't heard a thing. I really hope that Nintendo won't give up on the FE series (or the Advance Wars series while we're on that). A new FE for the WiiU or 3DS would be great, but I doubt that FE12 is going to see an English release....

Nintendo's killing me here... I'm probably going to have to pick up a PS Vita for the likely Monster Hunter game that will come out, but I far prefer Nintendo's franchises....That they simply haven't supported on the 3DS so far.

Don't you think you're jumping the gun a little here?

At any rate, it's your choice. I was also surprised RD is winning, but there we are. Maybe people do have taste after all

Jumping the gun on the PS Vita? I'd only pick one up after MH is released. I'm not one for picking up consoles right at launch (took me a year to get the DS, and two years to get a Wii, and five for a PS3). And I'm waiting a bit on the 3DS to get a larger game library. Not so sure about the WiiU yet...

When would Nintendo be likely to announce a new FE? Generally, they wait for events like E3 or the GDC or TGS, but they've been known to announce games with little notice (Advance Wars: Days or Ruin was announced with little fanfare only a short time before its release).

I'd say if we don't hear one in the next couple months we probably won't hear about one until E3. FE isn't 'big' enough for a standalone announcement, normally.

I'd wait for the fall media summit, really, but i'd say because of how close it fell to the 3DS that FE3/12 is unlikely to ever happen, though if NoE localized Solatorobo of all things for the regular DS, who knows?

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

It's not a complete crisis if Fire Emblem 12 isn't released over here officially anyway. A fan translation project started a bit after E3 (they waited until they found an official release very unlikely), and Fire Emblem fans have a track record of being pretty brilliant at translating titles. The original Fire Emblem, Gaiden, Mystery of the Emblem and Sword of Seals (FE1, FE2, FE3 and FE6) are all close to perfectly translated, and the Holy War and Thracia 776 are pretty damn well translated too. The language translated into is pretty decent too, I'm not sure I'd say the officially translated language of Fire Emblem 7 is a much better than the fan translated language of FE6.

In other words, Fire Emblem 12 will get a (nearly) impeccable fan translation anyway. While it's obviously somewhat of a loss to not have an official game, it will still be perfectly playable.

What it indicates for Nintendo of Europe and America importing future Fire Emblem games isn't that great, though.

By the way, have you people played many Fire Emblem hacks (what would be called mods for most other games)? There are quite a lot of great English ones, and some absolutely amazing Japanese ones.

Sacred Stones is my favorite in the series. I've played all in America but the first one on GBA. Path of Radience has the best story by far IMO.

In here to show my support. I've enjoyed every Fire Emblem game I've played so far. Love the turn based strategy genre. Advance Wars and Fire Emblem are my favorite series. I still have a few more FE games to get. I'll probably pick the GC version up later this year.  I voted for Sacred Stones so far.  I am in the process of playing the Wii version.

Fire Emblem is THE system seller for me! Favorite is Radiant Dawn.

While Radiant Dawn does not have the character development that Path of Radiance has, the gameplay is superior. I played Radiant Dawn first and it can stand on its own, but when I got to part 3 with the Greil Mercenaries, I was like "Who are these people!" I picked up Path of Radiance later and it will fill you in on all these characters. With using the data transfers, I now play both games through as if they are one game, epic!

Nice to hear! I've not played many fan translated games (ToG Wii...) but if this comes out I'll have to give it a go!

Reached the top of the Ruins in Sacred Stones, after several hours, deaths and bloody battles, only to get totally and utterly destroyed by the dragons at the top.

Well, that's a good 10 hours + of my life wasted.

Also- Updated the OP, if anyone still cares.
