I also didn't use the free month, because I didn't want to get hooked. ;P

Also OP didn't even mention the extra features you get from plus either, Automatic Download of Patches and firmwares while you sleep, and cloud storage for backing up your Save files, and with the promise of more features in the future it only get better,

ok same thing as xbox but more free games then (there's what 5 on xbox?). It's nice.

oh and XBL isn't 60$, there are deals all the time, I got mine for 30€ with 2 free games...

if i have any complaint it is that i'm overloaded with content. i don't have time to play everything but i've certainly got my money's worth. it also puts to shame what you get for the same price over on xbox. i'm very happy i made the switch way back when.

Come now, Kitler53.  XBL Gold offers multiple deals on games every week!!  Sometimes, we even get to vote on what the next discount is going to be.  And often, the deals are on things like Call of Duty DLC, Mass Effect 2 DLC, and other high profile games.  Just a couple of months ago, every Sega game was on sale for about $2 or something!! It's not about XBL vs PSN.  It's just PSN vs PSN+. this time.

I hate to be that guy but....I didn't even go for the free month of PS Plus that they offered when the PSN came back. I have a decent collection of games and probably spend more on DLC and downloadable games but I've been unable to find anything that the PS+ service offered for me. Maybe God of War Collection before I bought the disc, but that's it.

Of course, Me=/=Everyone. I'm sure there are people out there that have really enjoyed the service and more than got their money's worth. For me, it's just like when Gamestop sells games for dirt cheap because they weren't selling, anyway. If I wasn't interested before, I'm still not going to be interested just because the price dropped. If Sony did this: Offer some sort of voucher for $2-$5 towards the purchase of ANY game, I'd jump on it.

And don't take this as the ramblings of a Sony hater (defense mode activated). The day the PSN came back up, I downloaded Dead Nation, Wipe Out HD, and spent $50+ of my own money downloading all of the DLC for PAIN. PS+ looks pretty compelling based on the argument presented in the OP. In practice, it hasn't won me over, yet.

The more active buyer of PSN games you are the less atractive PS+ offer becomes. So if you already have everything for stuff you want then it's not for you.

I think it's a service dedicated to people who don't want to spend a lot on PSN games.

I can see that being the case, forbidden doughnut.  I do tend to buy the things I want almost immediately.  When they go on sale, it tends to not effect me.  Good point.

I disagree. To me, it's for the person purchasing from the PSN Store every week (Like myself). If I'm going to buy it anyway, I might as well get as many discounts and freebies as possible during that one year span. PSN+ saved me a lot of money on things I would've bought without the subscription. I also got some things I wouldn't normally purchase (Oddworld games, Sam & Max Episodes) for free. The more you buy the more you save.

PS+ looks good only on paper. For this past year I didn't see anything for what I normally would like to pay. Now I got this free month and don't even bother to use it.

I got Burnout: Paradise + Bikes DLC for free this month...I would never thought on buying it.

I have psn+ over 7 months and I download all the free games. Some I like some are crap...but they are all free

Well I haven't bought it yet, but if anything he hasn't calculated it right, since when you buy 12 months, you get 3 months free, which is even more bang for your buck...

I'll get around to buying Playstation+ eventually, just not now, my money is needed elsewhere (Unrelated to gaming)

That deal isn't going on in the United States, only Europe.

Money can't buy happiness. Just video games, which make me happy.
