I'm more interested in the improved frame-rate. The original dipped below the 20s quite often.

Agreed. What I've seen of SotC on the PS2 seems borderline unplayable to me because of the low fps :S |
I wouldn't say unplayable, just annoying because of being used to 30+ fps :p
Wow the PS3 version looks so much more crisp and well defined. That is truly some amazing polish on an already amazing looking game (for the time period, anyways).
ok, this seems to be fake!

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

PS2 version had huge framerate problems so this should be big improvement anyway.

There's no lighting. But apparently that's not the actual PS3 version but the PS2 version on an emulator. Lighting could be missing as a result.

I plan on doing my own comparison when the HD version comes out. The original looks almost hidious when I play it on my 47inch LED TV, so I'm expecting (hoping) a large gap between the two visually.
