The only drawback to MH3 motion-control was occasionally when i was trying to run in the game one-handed (so i could type on the keyboared), and set the wiimote down, the motion would accidentally unsheath my weapon, then get have to resheath so i could run again...

Well, that's an American problem. When playing with people from France, Spain or Italy typing had not much sense anyway. They wouldn't respond or maybe even understand you. My god, playing Monster Hunter Tri online was so bad at times. I mean, it was so bad that I was happy to play with Chrizum, the guy who got repeatedly owned by his girlfriend in Mario Kart Wii.

A gentleman lets his girl win every once in a while. You know, to get laid.

the point that people generally make is that games like the ones you mentioned uncharted, rage etc either play better without motion controls or that most people would rather not bother to use the motion controls anyway

Was going to say about the same thing. Its not that it doesnt work in the proper sense of the word, its just that most of the time its more efficient to use the physical controller. Motion control rarely add something to the traditional gameplay, often call core title. Now, it opens up to lots of new gameplay, thats great. No need to justify this technology for everything

You guys are crazy,   ok let say   uncharted , rage.. etc  work better with out motion controls... now  what proof do you have of this?  Do you understand why I made this topic.  If these devs  dont use motion controls for these type of games how do we know if it works or not.      Keep in mind,   back in the old days on the NES, SUPER NES, SUGA, and  the playstation you could  only use the  d-pad for games. Then when analog sticks came out ,  I remember ppl started bitchin about how they didn't want to lose  the d-pad  saying  analog sticks are  dumb and it dont work right, and it was to loose and hard to controls your character and camera at the sametime.   But  now look at what analog  sticks did for gaming.

Im just saying sometime we have to move on and stop thinking stuff dont work b4 you even try it yourself,  becasue you  "rather not bother to use motion". There are to many devs out there that thinks just like you, im not saying get rid of normal controls, Im saying  use both motion and normal for all games and let the ppl pick if they like it or not.   I'm not talking about 5 of your friends that dont like motion control Im talkin about the world.

There are already many different type of games that give Wiimote and Move as an option, so yeah I tried it, devs too. Anyway its not really hard to figure that for a third person shooter (uncharted), using a regular controller is faster, more precise and less tiring. Now for FPS (rage) its really down to a matter of preferences since Move/Wiimote control works fine, some things are better and faster (aiming), some things are longer and less precise (moving camera). With that said, the traditional gameplay style are usually more trouble with motion controller, but it honestly doesnt matter at all. The point of those controller is to offer new experiences, and they do. So once again, no need to justify this technology onto everything.

In my opinion the next best hardcore motion control game will be Skyward sword, Wii sports resort may not seem like hardcore but it's a good blast, especially with sword fighting. The game I know that didn't really work well with motion control is red steel, sometimes you tried to do a command but it does completely the opposite or it doesn't do what you want it to do.

Red Steel 2 on the other hand used motion controls perfectly! Killzone 3 plays excellently with move + nav. I hope the controls on the new zelda will be top notch too!

Red steel 2 is 20X better than the first, devs must have had more time to make it, and controlls well thanks to Motion plus.

Tell me who are they hurting if they try using move with everthing so ppl like me can see what works and dont?  Keep in mind you will always have your normal controls.   Are ppl scared that they might find a game they work really great with  it,  or are you scared that move controls could replace normal contorls?

Its not hurting anyone at all, im all for it. Im not going to use it for reasons I already stated but I have nothing agaisnt it. With that said, I had the impression that many devs are already adding support for those controls no? I dont remember reading a lot of bad press from developers about incorporating motion control, maybe because im not searching for it though.

I'm not at all sure but perhaps he means something like what PC gamers go through with games suffering from consolitis where things like the interface could have worked better if the PC version of the game was more optimised to use the mouse/kb instead of a now clunky interface ported more-or-less directly from the console versions.

only in this case perhaps he feels a game might suffer for forcing a player to use a motion-controller optimised interface instead of one that would have been better if it had been tailor-made for non-motion controlled gaming.

There are just so many Wii motion control games it is hard to make a good list, but I would say that Wii sports resort and wii sports could be considered hard core, especially getting max points on both games.

I'm sure those could be classified as hardcore games, but I'm also pretty sure the motion controls for them were developed from the start and not tacked-on.
