I'm not at all sure but perhaps he means something like what PC gamers go through with games suffering from consolitis where things like the interface could have worked better if the PC version of the game was more optimised to use the mouse/kb instead of a now clunky interface ported more-or-less directly from the console versions.
only in this case perhaps he feels a game might suffer for forcing a player to use a motion-controller optimised interface instead of one that would have been better if it had been tailor-made for non-motion controlled gaming.
