Its just that motion controls are not fit for those type of games. It won't make sense for motion controls to be in a Grand Theft Auto game. It's very good with Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12.

I would argue that motion controls (read pointing controls) would work very well in any shooter type game, be it first person, third person or bird's eye view - with decent implementation and low input lag TV.
Wii owners+StarWars fans, did you like The Force Unleashed in the Wii with motion controls? My friend who played it on Wii seamed to like it, but it looked silly to me.

In my opinion the next best hardcore motion control game will be Skyward sword, Wii sports resort may not seem like hardcore but it's a good blast, especially with sword fighting. The game I know that didn't really work well with motion control is red steel, sometimes you tried to do a command but it does completely the opposite or it doesn't do what you want it to do.

Red Steel 2 on the other hand used motion controls perfectly! Killzone 3 plays excellently with move + nav. I hope the controls on the new zelda will be top notch too!
Every single game that used 'waggle' and 'shake' for no good reason other than lack of a button is an example of motion controls detracting from the experience. These include many releases from the early days, such as Super Paper Mario, Dewy's Adventure, etc.
In addition, some games simply didn't use it well enough to make it fun. There is definitely a learning curve to the technology, and you could argue that up to motion-plus the hardware wasn't always capable of living up to the developers' visions. Examples here are Crystal Bearers, Madworld etc.
Another way to look at this would be to compare games that gave multiple control options or had different versions, such as Twilight Princess, Okami, Metroid Prime, and a few others. I still think even among games like these (which are certainly considered way above average when it comes to implementing the controls), there were noticeable problems with some of the mechanics that didn't work as well as they did on dual analog.
However most games specifically designed for this scheme faired a lot better once the tech was there, I think. Wii Sports Resort is still a prime example of this, as is Red Steel 2 for the most part. From what I hear some of the Move games are also very well done.
Until you've played it, every game is a system seller!

How do you know this? Did they ever make a Grand Theft Auto with motion control? Keep in mind before Killzone and Socom came out ppl said those two games wouldn't work right with PS-MOVE and now they say it the best way to play those games.
So I think we need to try ps-move with all types of games b4 we start saying it dont work with games ppl never played yet.

ill answer that, i had that game for Wii and PS3. The wii controls were fine, the problem is that the Wiimote itself was just to limited to do the things you wanted to do. Good look trying to do any of the combos on the Wii version. The controller isnt near as accurate as needed to be for that game. Wish they adapted motion+ for the sequel
| o_O.Q said: the point that people generally make is that games like the ones you mentioned uncharted, rage etc either play better without motion controls or that most people would rather not bother to use the motion controls anyway |
Was going to say about the same thing. Its not that it doesnt work in the proper sense of the word, its just that most of the time its more efficient to use the physical controller. Motion control rarely add something to the traditional gameplay, often call core title. Now, it opens up to lots of new gameplay, thats great. No need to justify this technology for everything.

You guys are crazy, ok let say uncharted , rage.. etc work better with out motion controls... now what proof do you have of this? Do you understand why I made this topic. If these devs dont use motion controls for these type of games how do we know if it works or not. Keep in mind, back in the old days on the NES, SUPER NES, SUGA, and the playstation you could only use the d-pad for games. Then when analog sticks came out , I remember ppl started bitchin about how they didn't want to lose the d-pad saying analog sticks are dumb and it dont work right, and it was to loose and hard to controls your character and camera at the sametime. But now look at what analog sticks did for gaming.
Im just saying sometime we have to move on and stop thinking stuff dont work b4 you even try it yourself, becasue you "rather not bother to use motion". There are to many devs out there that thinks just like you, im not saying get rid of normal controls, Im saying use both motion and normal for all games and let the ppl pick if they like it or not. I'm not talking about 5 of your friends that dont like motion control Im talkin about the world.
