Forums - Gaming - Was 1998 the best year to be a gamer? What is your best year of gaming ?

Personally, my favorite year was 2001, since it had my most favorite game of all time, and a lot of other stuff!

1. =============== PAPER MARIO ==================
2. Super Smash Bros. Melee (And Gamecube for that matter)
3. Luigi's Mansion
4. Pikmin
5. Sonic Adventure 2
6. Conker's Bad Fur Day
7. GTA III
8. Black and White
9. Final Fantasy X
10. RuneScape (yes I still play all the way to 2011; no one insult me)

It has the vast majority of the games that I really, really like and have stuck with me for years, so it's my favorite year.

1997, 1998, & 2001 were my fav years in gaming.

Final fantasy 7-10
Crash 1-3(CTR)
Zone of the enders 1-2
Metal gear solid 1-2
Tekken 3-4(Teken tag)

Redfaction 1                                                                  

Ready 2 Rumble round 2

GTA Vice City.  :)

the 5th gen its self with Nintendo leading the way was by far the best gen to date!

SSB, and goldeneye 007 alone made it the never put your controler down gen. killer instinct gold hands down took up wht ever time SSB and goledeneye didn't, yet it was all about the same anyway.

as for yrs i can't do that. i wasn't that type of gamer back in 98. i played enough PC games to just not know. dooom and wolfenstein had me locked.

as for this gen. i'd say this yr with PS3 leading the way. i know thats alittle cheap but 16+ games available that i want and multiplatform games in general make 2011 the business.

and  Conker's Bad Fur Day on the 64 only as that is the best version. so many different mini games to play. just awsume?

The period from 1994 - 1999 is the golden era in gaming, and I will fully agree that 1998 was the best year.

As for this generation, 2008 had to be my favourite, but it will soon be beaten by 2011 / 2012.

Yea this year is already looking better than 2008. 2012 will also be good too if we get FF versus-13  or MGS-Rising
